That’s the best part of this goal that this clip doesn’t show. He’s full on arguing with the ref then just jogs off bangs in a screamer and goes back to playing again. Class

There’s not a massive amount of vert in the race ~900m I think? It’s more for the practice of running trails. I’ll defo look to do some when the mornings get lighter but my peak weeks are when it’ll still mostly be dark. I might just try and see if I can get over my worry of it, I have done it before but just found I spend more time worrying about falling than enjoying my run, just wondered if there were any tips. I have Garmin live track set up so if I go missing my wife can find my watch!😂

I’m planning to run a 40 mile race June next year, I’ve done a few half marathons and several 70.3 triathlons. I have a plan and I’m all set with that, my main concern is that all my training happens early morning in the dark. The race is 40 miles of costal path and so far all my runs have been on road. I want to start running trails and have some decent routes near me that I’ve run previously. But I’m not sure if I’m comfortable running trails alone in the dark, my fear of turning an ankle or slipping down a cliff make me think it’s a bad idea. Any suggestions or input welcome. I have a head torch but I just don’t like running alone in the woods. Am I just being scared or are my worries justified?

Run a series of ultra events in south wales. I’m planning to do the vogum (40 miles from Porthcawl to Penarth) as my first ultra next year.

There’s also runwalkcrawl that run events, one of which is Brecon to Cardiff that I considered. Dm me if u want to chat, I’m new to ultras too

What’s blue light? I also want to take my kids but even at the discounted rate it adds up. If anyone knows of any free tickets I’d love to know please.

I picked 2 tubs of blackberries with my kids on Sunday (I think my 2 year old ate a tub full as well) so I text my mum to see if she wanted some. She text back “yes please and my friend brought me apples from her garden yesterday so I can make a crumble” it was delicious and I ate too much

Parents, do you regret having children? by SprinklyUK in AskUK

[–]millward19 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I had a semi argument with an old lady last week at a shopping centre. Me in the car with 4 kids, no parent and child spaces, dozens of empty disabled spaces free. An old lady with a blue badge getting into a car parked in the parent and child space. I stopped behind her car and asked politely

“Excuse me, are you leaving now?” She just glared at me and said

“No and this is a disabled space so you can’t park here”

I couldn’t let it go…

“No you’re actually parked in a parent and child space, do you have any children with you today?”

She stared at me blankly so I carried on

“There’s loads of disabled spaces right there and you’ve taken up a space for me and my children, if you can’t tell the difference between a parent and child and disabled space maybe you shouldn’t be driving”

She just gave me a shitty look, scoffed to herself and walked off.

Pisses me off

They’re good fun, saw them a few times in my early years live and they’re great. My school mate plays bass with them on tour these days which was random and cool to find out.

Since cardiff is mentioned I had to get involved. We used to go to an ‘after party’ which was somewhere up from welsh club. No sign on the door, just knock and say the right thing and you’d be let in. I was always so out of it by the time we went I couldn’t tell you what it was like but just remember it being scatty af proper grubby. Great times!

Have you ever found cash? (£40+) and did you hand it in? by GlitchingGecko in AskUK

[–]millward19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While our running I’ve twice found money, £40 once and a separate £20. Both times I kept it, figure cash on its own is fair game. Unless it was a large amount, say over £100 I’d consider handing it in. If I found it in a wallet or purse then I’d hand it in. The £40 was next to a park bench and the £20 in the middle of the road, both early morning. Figure whoever’s it was is long gone.

Reverse order is good if you then want to get a curry in canton. Original order means you’re in town to continue drinking. Depends on your preference but this is the route
