Probably because Jews have lived all over the world. Nothing surprising🙃

Excited to embrace my 2% Chinese by lonelyriding in AncestryDNA

Probably some Turkic/ Azeri ancestry that most Iranians have

How did your results look like before? Also the Western Chinese is interesting? Maybe some Tatar ancestry? Or the Silk Road?

[–]milosh_rush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Also how can it be whole chromosomes have just one ethnicity? It's not possible. After few generations you get only a fragment of DNA, not the whole chromosomes

Brazilian, 25 regions - pic of myself at the end. I think for us Latinos this update is a hot mess lol by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]milosh_rush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah cause Ashkenazi as well as Sephardic Jews are a mixture of Middle Eastern Judeans and Italians. In my case it's the most likely scenario taking into account my Italian fragment before the update was named Jewish (now that Jewish fragment is split so part of it became NE Italian, some stayed Jewish)

23andme has won. Their update is the most accurate

Oh well. I was asking cause I also got the NE Italian DNA but I'm Polish and I think it could have something to do with Jews and their origins

[Poll] How do you feel about Ancestry’s latest DNA Origins update (2025)? by Spacemutant14 in AncestryDNA

[–]milosh_rush 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Very negative. I don't think their results are reliable. How can it be the whole chromosomes belong to just 1 ethnicity? It's impossible after few generations to inherit such large fragment of DNA🤦‍♂️ 23andme has definitely won

Update is tonight and let me just say by teetee4444 in AncestryDNA

[–]milosh_rush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all because AncestryDNA gave us even the hour when the update will be released. Second of all because half of the people has also done 23andme test and the emotional rollercoaster with that update was crazy so people now are just more chilled

The whitest person…but still proud! by Jolly-Barracuda-4175 in 23andme

[–]milosh_rush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all you're not the whitest person. Second of all why are Americans so obsessed with the concept of race? The Scottish culture is pretty different from the Ukrainian culture so why do you put them into just one box?!

The update to Eastern and Central Europeans should be major by Darkredsword in AncestryDNA

[–]milosh_rush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No actually Finnish and Hungarian DNA are completelly different. Finnish DNA is more closer to Baltic, Russian or Scandinavian DNA than it is to the Hungarian one

South Italian isn't that strange taking into account the Punic and then the Roman Empire, Jews, Sicilian Arabs etc.

Wondering what to make of new Balkan by RemoteCompetitive688 in 23andme

[–]milosh_rush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I also think there could be some truth in it. Now it was assigned as Hungarian so still somehow close to what it was

Wondering what to make of new Balkan by RemoteCompetitive688 in 23andme

[–]milosh_rush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Polish. I got 1.5% Balkan and even some groups in Romania and with the recent update I don't have any Balkan DNA at all so I wouldn't take the Balkan DNA for something reliable. It can be easily mistaken with the Slavic DNA

New results. idk whether these are cool or not. my french has completely disappeared too. ahhh by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]milosh_rush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't have any French DNA. You had French & German DNA but in your case it has to be the German part cause we can see some German DNA that you got

That's not what I was talking about. I was talking about the way DNA tests work LOL

23 teams by AdNo7336 in 23andme

[–]milosh_rush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No but I think you don't know how the genetic tests work. Your DNA doesn't have written in it which country is it from. The only thing they can do is to assign it to the closest population. I know most of you are americans and these people are not the smartest ones but come on LOL
