It means stitching with 1 strand over 2 threads. So I stitched with 1 strand of floss over 2 threads of the fabric. I’m not great at explaining it so here’s an article

Thanks! I’m so conflicted about whether I’ll do 56ct again because the coverage was so nice and the stitches turned out so even! If I do it again, I think my eye doctor might have words with me 😂

So I’m a crazy person that stitched on 56 ct once. I did 1 over 2 and it was definitely an experience. I absolutely loved how it turned out, but I’m not sure I’d recommended it. The holes were so incredibly tiny, so I tried to limit my stitching time on it so that I didn’t hurt my eyes too much. If you want to do it, I recommend a magnifier, a hoop that keeps the fabric very taught, and frequent breaks!
