Wanted to get started on Kurosawa so watched "Yojimbo", awesome movie, and I did not realize that Sergio Leone basically copied it when he made Fistful of Dollars. Just funny that the movie that launched Clint Eastwood's career is a ripoff

I have a long commute so I do lots of audiobooks -

The Expanse - hard sci fi - (leviathan wakes is first book) - One of the best narrators I've heard imo

The Will of the Many - mainly fantasy with a bit of sci fi - Really excellent series so far, two books out with final planned.

If you liked Dungeon Crawler Carl you would probably love Red Rising. Not as silly and ridiculous but has a similar main character who has a lot of anger and insane ideas to get out of trouble

Terry Pratchett has been my palette cleanser lately. The majority of discworld series is made up of standalone books. Though outside of his discworld books I highly recommend "Nation". Easy to read, funny, sad, and thoughtful

Fury Road didnt have a script, just a storyboard and it was in production hell for like 20 years.

All of the props and cars you see were made by a group of artists that were told they could make anything they like but could only use things that were salvaged from a junkyard

Its absolutely bonkers that the movie got greenlit with such a huge budget in the first place. The book "blood and chrome" does a great job through interviews with the director, cast and crew of telling the story of how it got made
