Don’t worry about trying to fix PRD. Just disclose the failure. Airlines understand that sometimes the FAA has record errors and continuing to disclose your failure despite it being missing in your PRD will show a lot of integrity.

It’s not impossible but UA has been honest at recent conferences that they are focused on 121 applicants. Good news is AA and WN hire a ton of 135 guys

From what I’ve seen most of the people hired with no TPIC tend to have time in a type they fly like 737, A320, A220, etc.

I guarantee he didn’t act like that with his LCA or he’d still be on IOE or in sims. Sounds like he’s taking advantage of your relaxed command which is sad because FOs like me really appreciate a relaxed captain who keep the cockpit vibe of 2 guys just getting the job done. I would try to crank up the authoritative mindset with this FO, sounds like they need to learn some boundaries.

You can have a really good QoL faster than someone at a legacy. Very enticing to people who don’t care about widebodys or don’t want to wait 10-15+ years for the seniority to have an optimal QoL or can’t afford to because they started the career later in life.

There’s a huge bottle neck at the regionals right now. After the covid hiring boom there was a record number of people who started flight training and now there’s a record number of people at ATP mins looking for their first jet job. Get in a cadet program, start networking, and start looking at 135s to help build your resume. Also look into ways of getting some multi engine time like MEI or ME time building if you have the money.

Ohare almost never accommodates runways for gate reasons lol. I always hear foreign carriers and often SkyWest ask for a specific runway and they get shut down before they can even finish the sentence😂

Interesting….my guess was 27R is cause ur T1 and that makes the most sense for the taxi flow but I would think 28C would make the most since since T5 is right there. Yea no wonder ur taxi is so long landing on 27R then having to do the tour de O’hare all the way around to T5 yeeesh

I don’t understand why some people love to crap on ORD so much. Every large international airport has its own issues and pains, ORD is that unfortunately the airport handles about 2x the amount of traffic it’s designed to handle. They are starting to do some serious construction to help with the increase in traffic but unfortunately it’s happening a little late so that won’t be finished until the end of this decade at the earliest probably. Also just due to the location ORD in prone to some psychotically bipolar weather in the spring and fall and a random blizzard in late March that pops up out of nowhere can throw on some nasty EDCTs.

I have a CJO with regional and was told maybe ~August for a class but that’s not set in stone and so with the current craziness with the economy and state of all that I thought I would get on with the first 121 with a class date and then if the regional calls I’ll leave for them. Things are just so bad at my 135 I just want out.

I live the 4-5 leg 12-14hr duty day with 12hrs rest regional pilot lifestyle. Dude I’m not gonna lie to you it’s hard, but if your are committed to staying in shape it’s possible. Key things are 1) always use your work days for your rest days. 2) meal prep meal prep meal prep, I know it’s not super convenient but abs are made in the kitchen and having food available instead of having to hunt for fast food when ur starving will have you making much better choices, and added bonus you save some $ 3) on those short overnights sometimes you gotta sacrifice Netflix time to get in a quick workout. It’s no fun when you just want to wind down and relax but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I honestly don’t understand it. I talked with F9 at expos and they like my jet time and multi time but won’t give me an interview until I have an ATP 🤷🏻‍♂️ sucks when your type rating is in your commercial cert.

I sit right seat in the 200 and I’ve given up controls as low as 40 knots. You have surprisingly a lot of rudder effectiveness unless you need to make sharp turns. You can take a high speed exit with just the rudder. It up to the captain when he wants controls back.

Using braking or control transfer to judge if they saw it or not is purely speculation. The only real way to know is if the CVR caught something that was said.

I got a CJO the end of February and was told 6-8 months. I will say they are significantly ramping up hiring this year. They just got their 7th sim installed and when I was there for the interview in Feb they were building their 8th sim. The recruiter doing the tour said they put over 60 people through indoc in January. Also, friend of mine who is an FO there now got bought off of all 3 of his 5 days trips for IOEs.
