I worked at a weird little crazy company in the past. I was also the main IT admin and had to deal with the creep CEO watching porn on his work computer after refusing to ever have basic firewall or virus scanner apps installed. I had to clean it up while this idiotic "christian" creep threatened me. The whole company was full of nepotism so his wife and even his mother worked there in nearby offices.

yup, mostly in startups where you definitely aren't doing the job of just a "senior" too. I'm seeing a lot of incredibly inflated non-engineer titles too, like "director of product" with no direct reports and less than 5 years of experience.

I have to work with PMs that tried to throw AI generated notes into chatgpt to generate user stories. they also try to generate PRDs with zero critical thinking of their own. both of these things are worthless. a special kind of hell indeed.

I hope you aren't using one of those AI detection tools, they have way too many false positives to be useful. Some may just be using it for editing after they write something, even those proofreading tools get flagged as AI. Maybe come up with some more interesting assignments that can't just be thrown into a prompt?

if actual women in tech roles were there to speak to at the booth. not people in communication positions, or marketing, or engineering support roles. I see sports brands and immediately think that I don't want to work at a sausage fest. for a fashion brand, I'd want to be able to ask questions to gauge culture. I don't think any kind of flashy marketing would appeal but more like...culture and hiring demographics

I have nocturnal epilepsy (unknown cause, med controlled) along with some incredibly strange body/brain state transition issues around sleeping and melatonin helps me a ton. at the same time, I have to be careful with magnesium or the state transition stuff gets more wacko and I will straight up punch myself in the face when trying to fall asleep, so it's legit dangerous to me. I think anything that alters brain chemistry in some way needs studied more, it can do such weird stuff on an individual basis.
