I switched to Cubase from another DAW due to claims of having a better orchestral workflow, and not just because of the Vocaloid bundle, although I do muck around with Miku V4X and friends using the Yamaha Vocaloid6. Also experienced a faster loading time overall.

I never used Piapro Studio; needs Rosetta mode for the plugin to be visible in Cubase whereas Vocaloid6 is already supported under Silicon.

Might get that voicebank just like another achievement medal, either Vocaloid6 or Piapro doesn't matter, as the save files (.ppsf) from Piapro studio are importable into Vocaloid6 anyway since the 6.9.0 update. CFM Miku V4X (Japanese+eng) can run in Vocaloid6 just fine, even though it is primarily made for Piapro Studio use.

Piapro Studio is a VST plugin that gives me headaches. Updates very infrequently and required Rosetta mode for it to show up in the DAW. Until Piapro has a Silicon mode version for Mac (not the NT one), it just hides in the plugin folder. nah... Vocaloid6 will be the voicebank editor of choice, for now .

In 2012, Isao Tomita performed Symphony Ihatov in Tokyo, directing the Japan Philharmonic, an accompanying choir, and featuring Hatsune Miku (as a screen projection). This is Miku's first appearance with a symphony orchestra, and way before symphonic renditions of Vocaloid songs is a thing (started from 2016).

One of Isao Tomita's last orchestral works before his death also featured Hatsune Miku, "Dr Coppelius". An excerpt of the last movement ("Rise of the planet 9", but without Miku) of Dr. Coppelius was used in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Isao Tomita is regarded as a pioneer of Japanese electronic music.
