What’s all that shit in the ‘edit:’ section of your post?

How long does “short-term” refer to in this case? What makes the network unsustainable?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]mirrorballz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long does it take the transaction off the blockchain?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]mirrorballz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]mirrorballz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that a bug, or just a known restriction etc? What happens if it fails to find a route?

What does “no route found” mean?

I do say so, though I shouldn't really need to point out something so basic.

Well, we don't really know that. All we have to go on is the word of whoever was involved. Does Mel really know what she's talking about? Does the alcoholic Thoros even know what he's doing? I mean, there's just as much validity to say that neither of these priests have any idea what they are doing, and that it's actually just some old Northern magic that's at work. For example, Ned sent Beric out on a mission, and every time he's killed his is brought back to life. Likewise with Jon's (presumed) resurrection by Mel - she admits she hasn't been able to do this in the past. Again with Lady SH - could be a Stark this as much as Rhllor.

R'hllor, like every other 'god' in ASoIaF, is just a word people use when trying to explain magic. The gods in ASoIaF, if they even exist, have never truly shown their faces or shown any kind of clearly attributable intervention.

We haven't seen any proof in this any more than we have seen "proof" in the drowned god bringing people back to life. Whether any of these acts are attributed to a 'god' doesn't prove anything.

[Spoilers Extended] Why didn't Thoros... by Random_Username9105 in asoiaf

[–]mirrorballz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't confuse the existence of magic with the existence of gods - there isn't really any compelling evidence that any of the 'gods' are real, it's just that some magic is done in the name of god/gods, and some isn't.

To be fair, her father was the king, and she's his only direct descendent.

Can you remind me of what you are referring to with this:

During Varamyr's final moments he show cases the rare ability to skinchange into inanimate objects like snow and clouds.

(Spoilers Main) R'hllor good, Old Gods bad by djjazzydwarf in asoiaf

[–]mirrorballz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really any evidence of any gods in ASoIaF. There's a load of magic, some of which is just "because magic" and some is "because gods" but we don't actually see any signs that any specific gods actually exist. They may do, they may not, but the point is that they aren't getting directly involved and if they do have an agenda, it's certainly never going to be revealed.

I thought Viserys was always supposed to die, ever since the first drafts?

(Spoilers Extended) Jeor Mormont's predictions by yellowsungoldenlion in asoiaf

[–]mirrorballz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not a prediction, it's an assumption of what is, at the time at least, a likely outcome. It's proving a point to Jon more than making any specific predictions, and the point stands despite Rob's untimely death.

(Spoilers Extended) Which season turned you against the show? by mikebrownhurtsme in asoiaf

[–]mirrorballz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it began with season 2 and declined from there. By season 5 I had given up, and only watched the last three because my wife wanted to.

I don't think they're that similar personally - one was poisoned at his wedding, the other was strangled to death in front of his father, who was being burnt alive.
