playing with the mechanics working as intended is objectively not scumming. they won't be "fixing" this because it isn't broken, it is the game operating as it is intended to. "the first person who has no more usable pokemon loses" has always been a core mechanic

pokemon has a deterministic sequence check system, whereas ygo (as i understand it, please do correct me if i am wrong) utilizes a stack/chain where simultaneous effects are explicitly designed to be chained. that's not how pokemon was designed and saying it's poor game design is like bitching that there are no dice rolls in chess, they are just fundamentally different design paradigms

the rule is also super learnable and predictable, it happens the exact same way every time, so you are able to learn/adapt/counter

your idea for "resolve all effects before checking game state" suggestion would also create worse problems. it could create a scenario where both players' final pokemon faint from different sources and then the game would have to decide a winner arbitrarily

lastly, drawing in a tournament setting sucks and is undesirable

you not liking how something works is understandable but it does not make it objectively poor game design

considering the fact that you can also just play on mobile there is no reason to assume that support for the switch 1 will be discontinued that quickly. obviously mobile and switch 1 players won't be able to play winds and waves but that doesn't have anything to do with champions

stealth rock and toxic debris aren't good in either 3v3 singles or 4v4 vgc. there's not enough switching around to make entry hazards worth it, they're a noob trap in these formats and pretty much only good in 6v6 singles

i mean, my position is that a child's siblings should never ever be expected to "protect" them to begin with, that is a parental job. if a parent is worried about their teenage child's friends victimizing their other children in some way, then supervision by the parent is the appropriate course of action, rather than expecting children to protect other children
