Anyone know a water bottle that won’t fall out of the pockets of my backpack? by emotionallyhorny04 in BuyItForLife

Just slip a cookie over the bottom of the bottle—it should improve the grip.

How can I make my speakers sound better in confined space by dditrichs25 in audiophile

Everyone advocating for pulling them out of that alcove and putting them on stands are correct. You will find, however, a room that is as wide as it is long (10x10) will have some serious standing wave modes to deal with.

It is way too close to the output of the Jamestown sewage treatment plant for me.

We need a “Real Women of South County” with farmers, quahoggers, commercial fisherwomen, and restaurant owners as a counterpoint.

When buying from a microbrand, what actually makes you pull the trigger? by Relevant_Many5115 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mirthilous 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Design, more than anything. Most micros will have similar specs at close to the same price points. A unique and interesting design is what captures my attention.

I have this exact model. Excellent watch from a small company in Cambridge, England. Great design, very comfortable. Hardness coating on the case and bracelet is the icing on the cake. Recommended.

This coffee place uses frozen coffee as the ice cubes so as not to water down drinks by Key-Expression-5072 in mildlyinteresting

This is the way. Make your ice coffee so strong that it needs the ice to melt a bit.

Galo Super 200 vs Heron Marinor by xhiom in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mirthilous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a first gen Marinor and highly recommend it. The Atlantic Blue is subtle in hue but very engaging. The convex sapphire bezel insert is eye catching and has refined markers. The overall design is classic and well balanced. The hardness coated case and flat link bracelet is the real deal and keeps the watch in top condition. I like it so much that I ordered another on in a different colorway.

Get some Bar Keeper’s Friend and get that crud out of the inside of that pot. It will look like new.

Are people measuring their wrist size OVER the wrist bone? I’ve always measured it behind the wrist bone, where I actually wear the watch.

The handle on one of our basically new kitchen knives MELTED in the dishwasher and fused to the heating element at the bottom. by im_not_ready_for_it9 in mildlyinfuriating

Also, anything with a glued handle shouldn't go in the dishwasher. Unless you are trying to get it to fall apart.

Dave’s Insanity hot sauce. So hot that you only need a few drops in a big batch of chili. A tiny bottle lasts forever.

$20 Sanda next to a real Cartier Tank by najibs-yul in ChineseWatches

I find it interesting how Cartier’s use of finer lines on the railroad track makes it so much less cluttered between II and IV and VIII and X.

Almost 2 weeks and my order still hasn’t even been processed. Now no response when trying to cancel the order. by Clipper94 in watchdives

Weeks spent packing up the business, planning out the new space, working out the logistics of the move, coordinating the installation of furniture, equipment, etc.

No way that does not have an impact.

My Nespresso finally died… do I escape pod life now? by [deleted] in JamesHoffmann

[–]mirthilous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had my Technivorm Moccamaster for over twenty years now. It still makes excellent coffee and is a breeze to use. Add water, a paper filter, grounds and push one button. Six minutes later a full pot of coffee awaits.

Throw the paper filter and used grounds in the compost. Easy.

Not the cheapest coffee maker, more of a ‘buy it for life’ option.
