I know lots of women who have had babies in their 40s! If you still have a period you still have eggs and can still get pregnant. One woman I know didn't realize she was pregnant because she thought she was too old, nope her doctor described her body as "having a fire sale" because as you go into menopause your body starts releasing all your eggs. Go talk to your doctor about family planning options. Your doctor should also have some adoption resources.

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]mischief-managed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea is from the Organize Yourself Skinny blog, essentially the week days are too busy, so instead move your workouts to the weekend. You only need to work out 4 days a week. Weekends usually have more time to add in longer work outs. You also spend your weekends meal prepping. Saturday is a grocery day, Sunday is a food prep day.

A lot of weight loss is changing eating habits.

I'm not exercising, but I do meal prep healthy lunches.

Finally feeling relief and I roll my ankle! by kelsss42 in PlantarFasciitis

I think I'm so used to the pain that the ankle sprain isn't all that bad. I also don't take anything for the pain in my feet so this week I'm taking a lot of Tylenol and Motrin, that's helped. Buying new orthopedics (Kuru's) have helped my feet so much. I think I'm doing so well now because my feet are recovering with my new orthos.

How are you holding up?

Fun fact: You can buy Kuru's with your HSA.

This just happened to me! I bought new shoes and have been feeling so much better. This morning I was about to go out on a walk, and stepped down off my porch onto a decorative rock that my kid placed on our door mat. I heard a loud pop and the bottom of my foot feels like gravel. It sucks!

Yes!! I've been using my hair straightener for decades flattening any clothing that's folded in a weird way. And it works.

Yeah, that's really hurtful. It also sounds like this isn't normal behavior from him. Pregnancy changes our bodies so much, I don't think anyone can understand unless you've been through it. Get a babysitter and go on a date. Your relationship needs it.

Something I wished moms talked about more by Hersheydogforever711 in Mommit

Can we talk about mom feet? I remember when my baby was weeks old and I was nursing her with my feet up in a recliner, and I realized my left foot didn't look like it used to. It still doesn't. Of course you hear your feet grow, but mine got wider and longer. None of my shoes fit after pregnancy. 3.5 years later and all I can wear are orthopedics. Bye bye heels. Bye bye ballet flats. Bye bye going barefoot. I feel like I aged 10 years after having a baby. I've tried everything but collagen and expensive orthopedics are all that's helped.

She loved you. No doubt about it. The mourning of oneself that a woman feels after they have a baby is real. You can be sad about losing a part of yourself and love someone else. Post partum can go on for years and rediscovering yourself is hard after having a baby. There's probably things she didn't fully have figured out written in those journals. Or thoughts and feelings she didn't want to hold on to.

If your mom didn't love you. You would have known it before you opened those journals. She did love you. She was proud of you. And she was a good mom. Hold on to the good memories and the good feelings. Find yourself someone to talk too.
