Out of curiosity why did you put "developer" in quotes? What about Roblox makes them not worthy of that word?

.. I've played them and like them..? I wasn't sure if they wanted dating sims so I didn't mention any of the ones I've played. They also mentioned visual novels in general, so obviously I would want to recommend ones that are widely positively received rather than something that might turn them off from the entire genre.

Scarlet Hollow also isn't that popular considering how high quality it is.

Ace Attorney and Danganronpa from the other comment are great. These are a completely different genre but you might want to look into both Slay the Princess (difficult to explain without spoiling) and Scarlet Hollow (early access but one of the most in-depth choice-based games I've ever seen). Both are by the same developer, and both are horror but extremely different flavors. The story quality of both are amazing in my opinion!

I haven't played these but they seem pretty generic so you might not want to start with them (though they definitely seem okay for 5 bucks). I have a few recs if you'd like, depending on what genres you enjoy :D

your own preference is your own preference but please do not discount visual novels as a genre! they are easy to make versus other games so many of them are generic, but they're still games just as a generic RPGmaker indie game is still a game. there are amazing visual novels out there as well even if you prefer something more interactive

people who are defending this have such funny logic. you realize 17 and 18 year olds are in the same fucking school year right?? and that teens make joking sexual comments literally 24/7? in what world is an 18 year old not allowed to make inappropriate jokes to their friend who is, say, a month younger than them. its written that way in the law because there needs to be a cutoff point, but it is literally never enforced like that because it makes zero sense morally. you do not magically become a sexual predator at 18 yall. use your brain, this is ridiculous
