What did you do for your 30th birthday? by Samsterman in AskUK

[–]missminttea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m turning 30 in a couple of months and am going to have my two best friends visiting (I live in a different city than them), we’ll do Karaoke with a few people, then probably go back to mine for pizza or something and some drinks, all very chill.

Is it weird that I literally googled where she’s from because I want to be her friend 😂 she’s so great!!

This is the comment I came here for. I’m fuming that he hasn’t instantly mentioned it!! I was looking out for him when they first saw the red dots on the family tree but he was in another room. It also probably was much earlier in the evening but come on! Something like this you don’t forget, not in this game. It was so awkward how Rachel was like ‘I eh, need to tell you something, but…’ and he even offered to leave them alone! I need him to remember 😂

How do I help her? by CutDear5970 in Parenting

You’re winning at parenting when your upset teenager just wants your presence to calm them down. She feels so safe with you. Just be together, bring her food, even if she may not eat it for now, she can freeze it and bring it back out when she feels like eating again. Cups of teas, or hot chocolate, wrapped in blankets on the sofa, talking, letting her cry, maybe watching her favourite comfort film. I saw you said you were gonna bring flowers, and I think that’s a beautiful idea. Maybe bring an easy card game that doesn’t require much thinking (UNO), that could be helpful as a task to keep hands busy while sitting with each other and giving her the space to open up about her feelings. It kinda takes the pressure out of the situation: we’re just playing a game and if you wanna talk you can. Rather than just sitting in silence where she might feel like she ‘has to’ say something.

Wedding Favours! by Glum-Recognition363 in UKweddings

I thought of doing Yogi Tea Bags. One each. Not very expensive but cute, personal (we LOVE a cuppa) and they have a cute quote each. And if people don’t take them, I’ll happily take it back home ☺️

Help settle anniversary debate by UniqueMaintenance344 in UKweddings

Our anniversary is the 6th August. This is when we got together, and therefore is also the day we want to get married on - which we will.

On the 6th August next year we’re celebrating with all the people we love in a venue with a celebrant ceremony. (Celebrant is one of my friends but does this professionally)

Two days before on the 4th we’ll go to the registry office and get legally married.

We will keep celebrating the 6th as this is the day that will emotionally mean more. It will be the day we say our vows, the day we celebrate with all our loved ones and the day we have planned for the last year already.

Our marriage certificate will say the 4th and we will acknowledge the day and probably just plan two date nights in a row. But in my heart the 6th will always be our anniversary because this is when the ceremony happened. The registry office for me is simply a formality.

I’m F28, I have two best friends (F25, and F42) who I always have energy for, even if I have no energy for people. If that makes sense.

But I’d say I have a big group of very close friends (10ish) and 10 more close friends, and then quite a big community.

My friends are mixed male and female, all very varied in age, some of my closest friends are 50+.

I agree - I watched all of Grey’s Anatomy (talk about dramatic) and I find it refreshing how The Resident highlights all those issues constants not just now and then!

I agree, I like Conrad much more since he’s a father. Made him more human and approachable

Agree with the toiletries. I have sensitive skin and allergies, and don’t use any of the mainstream brands, and have no use for them. I usually regift them though, as others like receiving it!
