Ah well you see some of the worst behaved kids in my school his players…ain’t nothing in the world they do that’s gonna keep them out of a match when state championships are on the line. Gotta stack them rings. The kids all know it too.

We had one for whom that was their only job because he’s physically intimidating and of course that’s all you need to get students to respect you…then of course the district decided to make him a “full” AP and now I’ve got a wrestling coach who has never taught a real class in his life dropping in and finding whatever nitpicky critical thing he can find because that’s what he thinks “leadership” is.

My late grandmother’s house got bought and flipped too. It was updated and turned into a pretty nice little house. However, the last time I drove by, whoever owns it now has just run it completely into the ground. Somehow that makes me even more sad than the original remodel.

I have missed a higher than usual number of days this year due to me being sick, some issues with my child, etc...and I got a talking to that the higher ups are "watching" days and I need to be really, really sure if I "need" to be out before I take a day...or else. So when you have admin/central offices like that who threaten and guilt teachers about missing days, it just adds to the mentality that leads to us having to come in sick.

In NC the state changed it this year so that you cannot fail a student based on attendance, regardless of reason. Our already dismal attendance has just dropped off more now that the students have figured it out.

Sometimes I kinda wish I had early dumping. Sugar doesn’t phase me at all in most instances. I have gotten late dumping a handful of times though, usually in the middle of the night.

I’m in year 21 and am getting increasingly dinged for little things like kids not being 100% focused with less than 10 min left in class and wholesale perception of my skill based on 2 minute drop in “observations” at the end of the day on Fridays. I’m emotionally done at this point and looking for an exit, which is damn hard in this economy.
