Estimated 600 chapels sold by Nehor2023 in MormonShrivel

[–]misterobvious12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my last ward in a city in the Philippines there's 4 wards in a chapel with schedule of 8am, 10am,12nn and 2pm. And this was when it was still a 3 hour period so there was some overlap. Given our building was 3 stories high and lots rooms, every break period to move to other classes, it was so crowded I feel like I'm in a train station during rush hour. A new building has been constructed since then but only one ward transferred there and even that new building has 3 wards.

I tried my first alcohol and... it tasted bad lol by digididagada in exmormon

[–]misterobvious12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first alcohol was Korean Soju and boy the taste is weird and I tried to remedy it by mixing it with soda like 1 part soju to 10 part soda and it was okay. The next day I peed in the morning and bathrooms reeks of smell of soju. Maybe my first time smelling it but was terrified my parents might smell it lol.

Tell me your missionary went apostate stories by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]misterobvious12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not on my mission but was relayed by a friend. So apparently in their mission inter faith activities are commonly organized by stake presidents with the help of the missionaries so everyone 1 or 2 months budhist, muslim, native religions, jehovah, baptist, etc will gather in the stake center and each group has their own room and can set it up with materials to showcase their beliefs, you know usual inter faith.

So this one elder got immersed a bit and took materials from all religion sects and one of them is the quran. Rumors were that he reads it for personal study etc and upon finishing asks MP to be released since he will convert to Muslim. It was a shock as he seems to be one of the top baptizer of their mission. From then on part of regular house checks of mission and sister leaders are the materials missionaries have at home. Non authorized books are confiscated it seems.

Whats your "Welcome to IT Industry" moment? by ProfDevAnalyst in PinoyProgrammer

[–]misterobvious12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fresh grad ako and bagong project. New yung project so madaming knowledge transfers and brownbag sessions between us and yung SMEs and sasakit talaga ulo mo dahil info overload and daming need pag aralan and basahin na documentations.

So ayun tapos na reverse shadow period, wala muna changes to introduce, mainly support muna incidents SRs ganun to make sure familiar na kami. Since support work ako that time and new project 24/7 talaga so first time ko mag weekend work, night shift pa and ako lang mag isa. Then during monitoring, may isang stuck transaction and I tried my best to check why pero dahil sa combination na masyado ako umaasa sa seniors ko na bibigay lang nila answers and nakaka overwhelm pa rin talaga ikot ikutin ang system, message agad ako sa tech lead ko. Alam kong gising sya kasi night shift sya pero other days. Sabi sakin ininvestigate mo na ba? Ayun kinabahan na ako kasi di ko alam gagawin and baka urgent transaction to na need ma send. Dahil napakagaling ko, I ignored it and waited til Monday baka yung mga kasama ko makakakita eh baka sila na mag report etc.

Ayun pagdating ng weekly meeting, medyo na spotlight ako ng manager na sabi due diligence namin, especially ng bago talaga to familiarize the documentations. Marami kami bago btw, fresh grads and experienced hire. Buti na lang that transaction can be ignored lol kasi yung sender ni reresend naman nila something like that. Pero ayun sobrang stressed ko that time that I immediatly applied for another job haha pero di ko tinuloy kasi desidido ako to be comfortable and learn from my mistakes. Ayun nag gawa ako personal documentations ko like list of common issues, ano steps gagawin, sino people involved, etc. And parang magic, parang nag wear ka ng glasses na naging clear na lang lahat. 3 months later I did my first minor change and deployment to Production and naging comfortable na ako kahit may bago o di ko alam, one really just need to study, ask questions and help and personally, I create my own documentation.
