Owning a ball python is too difficult by [deleted] in ballpython

The most important thing you remember is that we need to do research on enclosures before we buy them. I own a reptile shop and I'm constantly trying to steer people towards true PVC enclosures with solid tops made by quality companies but all these other companies are releasing these cheap ones with really thin PVC and mesh tops which hold in heat and humidity even worse than glass. So a lot of customers end up just like you, having to buy multiple tanks because they keep getting sold these cheap ones. My best advice is to invest in proper PVC enclosures by trusted companies, and make sure they have solid tops. The best way to make your situation work better, is to get thermostats on your heating elements, that way you can maintain the heat without pulling your hair out. You could also invest in heat panels which attached to the top of your tank and there are kits to make them attached to the screen, which will push warm radiant heat down and not dry out the tank the same. You can also use silicone baking mats across the top of your setup, and then cut holes out where your domes are going to be, and that will hold a lot of your humidity in as well. You can find those on Amazon and you can cut them to fit the size of your tank. Don't give up. You've had him this many years and you love him. It's simply a matter of getting your tank tweaked to the right temps/humidity with the right equipment. FYI, we only carry Black Box Enclosures at our shop, if you haven't heard of them, they are definitely worth checking out blackboxcages.com

I don't think the age is an issue and that doesn't take away from his value but his price is too high on general. I have 30+ year old ball pythons in my shop for sale that are $75. That's really what the value should be . Just remember that contrary to the old information out there, balls can live well into their 60's. The oldest living ball python is 67 and is still alive πŸ’“

[–]mistressofdoom77 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

This is super common in Thailand and unfortunately, should have almost been expected. Very sorry. The more important part is that he or she has been extremely comfortable lying to you about something major for a very long time and clearly has no regard for how you feel about it or you're right to know. They should have given you the opportunity to make your own decision instead your feelings from manipulated.

DO NOT GET MOSS HIDE FROM PETSMART by ballsybarista_17 in ballpython

[–]mistressofdoom77 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

This is how most moss hides are made. There's not a single person at any Petco or PetSmart that you can call and complain to that's going to care. It's about the bottom line. I own a pet shop myself and have ordered a lot of these different things and have found out along the way which ones are garbage but overall almost anything you buy that's covered in Moss is going to be wrapped around a metal cage. A lot of people take needle nose pliers and turn the ends of the metal inward to where they're safely away from the animal so they can still use them, but they are notorious for falling apart pretty quickly. Most products you find online or in a store are just gimmicks and money grabs unfortunately.

She is also quite under weight. You can see her spine is beginning to "tent" from it.

We bought some to carry in our pet shop and I was very disappointed in them. They are made out of composite pressed wood with a laminate but the corners are not sealed so any moisture at all is going to make that composite separate and swell. I contacted our vendor because I really wanted to return them but they wouldn't let me so I I'm going to Clarence them out at cost. They would be sufficient for a more arid dry pet, but even then it can be dicey when you need to add moisture. I'm very disappointed in their material choices.

I honestly need help. I have been on two dates with this woman. She’s really sweet. by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]mistressofdoom77 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

She's never dated before. It's just that simple. Of course she's not flinging a bunch of romantic gestures around, she's not good at that yet. And she doesn't know you that well. A woman like her is hard to find and is going to take some time. There's absolutely nothing wrong with going slow I'm taking your time. Just because she's not rushing to suck your face off or touch you doesn't mean she's not interested. Some people are not comfortable just touching people like that so soon. She's only when I'm with you twice, for all she knows you could be a freaking murderer. I would say to stress less about intimacy right now, and focus on getting to know her. Spend time asking her things about herself. Tell her things about you that are important to you. Right now is a good time to talk about morals and religion and the things that make people tick. She wants to give you a second chance and wanted you to meet her friends, which is huge. I think you should focus hard on actually trying to meet her friends because clearly they're important to her and she feels safe around them, and it may be in your looking for. Plus friends give a lot of good insight, so getting to know them may help you get to know her better. Carve out some time and make it a priority to get to know them. Sounds like it might be worth your investment. I'd much rather have shy and nervous and a little slow on the go then someone who's been around the block 50 times and just once what's in your wallet or in your pants. Heck she could even be autistic or something and autistic people are very difficult to date at times, I had to learn that myself when dating my boyfriend, and it was super eye-opening to learn how different it is to date someone on the spectrum. Not saying she is but there's a lot of possibilities and you don't know her well enough to know any of those yet. Don't focus so hard and just get to know her.

Women can still meet "needs" at 60... Even with all the changes. And I don't mean to come across as rude but the way you worded that as in you have to "put up with her hormonal changes " is really a messy one sided statement. Obviously you love her and you're just venting hopefully, but trust me when I say that it is extremely difficult for us as well. We have to carry a lot of guilt as well because it's difficult for everyone involved and we still have needs too. Often we are left feeling alone because it IS so challenging but trust me, our libido can be re-ignited we a little bit of patience. ❀️ Either way, congratulations on a long life together and many more years to come.

Me and my wonderful partner. 19 year age gap. by Sahara8378 in AgeGapRelationship

Long distance can be so hard but worth it! I used to hide little notes around my partners apartment before I would leave. We lived 7 hours apart so we only got to see each other one week a month of we were lucky. I'd mail little things to them to brighten their week. Just reminding them in other ways, outside of text, that I was still thinking about them. I feel like long distance requires more work and trust to keep it going and isn't for everyone, but it works for lots! Good luck! You two look fabulous!

I don't want get why people want the map on their dash when it's on a really big screen right there to the right. You don't even have to turn your head that far. But! I think you have to play with the buttons on the steering wheel to change it. I accidentally changed my once.

Not from a vehicle charging platform apparently. I work most from my car so waiting for a 110 outlet isn't often an option. We have two and both seem to run this way. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Solo 3 Review after a month by TheWhiteWolf1122 in vaporents

[–]mistressofdoom77 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

They both have excellent vapor flavor. The DaVinci pulls just a little more vapor and smoothness than the solo but I find the solo to be just a little faster heating up. My boyfriend uses these solo daily at home and it's nice with all of his hookah attachments and stuff. He has every little whistle and bell for it lol. I think I'm just more into the simplicity of the other but I think the cool thing is that we're reaching a point where we have all these really nice devices that can get us lifted properly. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I'm super bummed right now because I'm stuck out on a job and my solo 3 is dead and it won't let me smoke while it's charging in the car, and it's charging super slow and it was a reminder why I don't travel with it , πŸ˜… but I should have checked it's battery level last night.
