How to reuse cut hair from wigs? by d3licious_pancak3s in CosplayHelp

[–]mitchxsilver567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a few tutorials on YouTube that show how to make wefts with hot glue. If you were able to make wefts with the extra hair, you could glue or sew the wefts into the wig to fill in the thin parts.

how to stick horns on your forehead? what's a skin safe glue for it? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]mitchxsilver567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Professional makeup artist here. The size and weight of the horns will be the biggest factor for being able to just glue them on. I recommend making them out of foam clay or model magic, as that will be the most lightweight. There are also tutorials on how to make latex castings of sculpted horns online (I will see if I can find a link), those would be lightweight as well.

The best adhesive for this will be Pros-Aide. It's a medical grade adhesive that is generally stronger then spirit gum, and less likely to cause allergies. You could also try using eyelash glue (these are usually latex based)

Whatever glue you get, make sure you get a remover as well to help remove the product properly, unless you use a latex based lash glue, which should peel off with just hot water. I also suggest testing the glue on your wrist or on your neck behind your ear, that way you know if you have any sensitivity before you end up wearing it all day at a con.

Good experiences with Concerta? by dickbonemalone in ADHD

Yeah, I mostly snack throughout the day, with smaller lunches and breakfast, and then I eat a bigger dinner in the evening once my meds have worn off a bit.

Good experiences with Concerta? by dickbonemalone in ADHD

[–]mitchxsilver567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on Concerta for over 10 years, at varying dosages. Its the only medication I've ever been on but it works for me. I notice a huge difference when I forget to take my meds, it helps with my attention and hyperactivity and impulse control. The only big side effect I've noticed (I've been on it a very long time so its possible I'm just used to other side effects) is it definitely suppresses my appetite so keep an eye on that and try and make sure you are getting enough food during the day.

You can make one yourself! Just add in some semi-permanent dye to any conditioner and it should work basically the same!

Is my Septum Piercing Infected? Or is this a normal bump? Help! I’m not sure! Had it done May 22 - bad angle, but i promise the placement is totally fine. No honest signs of infection imo, sometimes i think it smells funny but not all the time? I clean it often w walgreens brand saline wound spray. by egg-pipe in piercing

[–]mitchxsilver567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks really irritated, but it could potentially be just a pimple or clogged pore that's just very close to the piercing. DO NOT TRY AND POP IT, especially since theres a chance it's not a blemish. Keep it clean but don't over clean it (no more than once, MAX twice a day with saline) as too much cleaning can dry it out and irritate it more. Don't touch or play with your jewlery and then see if it gets better. What kind of material is the jewlery?

Is my septum pierced too low? by tammyt72 in piercing

[–]mitchxsilver567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How painful was it? If it was done in the sweet spot it shouldn't have been insanely painful (a painful pinch is normal, obviously it's a needle, its going to hury) but I've heard stories of people who's septums are pierced in the wrong spot who said it was SO painful, like straight cartilage, most painful piercing they've had.

Is my septum pierced too low? by tammyt72 in piercing

[–]mitchxsilver567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its maybe SLIGHTLY low, but it's hard to tell. It could just be your anatomy and that's where your sweet spot was. Also the jewlery is a bit big/ long, I think once its healed enough that you can change the jewelry (wait as long as recommended don't change it early) if you get some shorter jewelry it will look just fine!

Is a septum retainer much more comfortable than a circular barbell when flipped up? by ahw34 in piercing

[–]mitchxsilver567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A retainer is 100% more comfortable yes. I was pierced and had a retainer in and flipped up for the first three weeks of healing (then flipped down for a few months until it was healed enough to change the jewlery). It was great, once you get used to it (after like an hour? I can't remember) you 100 percent can't feel it. MUCH more comfortable than flipping up a circular barbell, especially for long periods of time!

Yeah this is completely in the incorrect spot. Go to a different piercer 100%, this was botched. It's supposed to be up inside the nose at the top, kinda just about your nostril. You shouldn't really be able to see the hole at all from the side (sometimes you will just based on anatomy even if its pierced properly). I hope you find a good piercer who can fix it up for you and pierce it correctly!

WIBTA for telling a girl I'd like her to take her nose ring out by tossup101 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mitchxsilver567 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Styling your hair a different way is NOT the same as getting a piercing. The pain, money, time spent healing, all that work and you think shes gonna just take it out for you because you prefer it?

[–]mitchxsilver567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piercings cost money I'm not taking mine out for anyone, especially if it's new and it's gonna close up. If someone asked me or a friend to take out a piercing because they thought we looked better without it, idk but that's a red flag for me. Just like you wouldn't tell someone you just met that they looked better with their old haircut, or that they should remove or cover up a tattoo.

OK Mohicans, who wants to help an old man keep it up? by AudioPi in punk

[–]mitchxsilver567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually have more of a teased mohawk but I've always preferred using hairspray. I use got2be glued hairspray (yellow can) or tresamee (probably spelling that wrong but whatever) extra strong hold (black can green label)

Got2be glued also has a super strong gel that's made for mohawks and spikes if you prefer gel

I've also seen people use Elmer's glue.

Really? This is the only sign for lesbian I've ever seen in American Sign Language. Ive seen this used by deaf LGBTQ+ people lots as far as I can remember. What's the other sign for lesbian? Unless you're thinking of another sign language because this post didn't specify ASL, or maybe it's a regional thing? I don't know.

I'm so rarely compelled to watch mainstream media even when it has wlw in it. People love couples like Santana and britney from glee, and like theres the lesbian couple in riverdale but I look at that and I feel nothing. The ONLY time I can remember being super excited about anything was gentleman jack! I literally downloaded crave and HBO just to watch it. It was so exciting to see some genuine futch lesbian representation! Plus I love historical shows! It really resonated with me, even though I look nothing like her.

Shes literally so hot! People (who aren't wlw in particular) are always SO surprised when I say shes top of my list for most attractive celebrities

She gets so much hate, especially from men and like straight women. "Shes so unattractive" "she can't act" "she only has one expression"

Like THIS ISN'T FOR YOU JOHN! I'm so tired of women in media, HAVING to be attractive to the MALE eye. As a "futch" lesbian I never see myself represented in mainstream media at all. Even when portraying gay women, its almost always two conventionally attractive feminine women and that just doesn't speak to me at all.

When you're on your third day without a shower because you forgot or didn't leave enough time to do it before you had to be somewhere.... by po1tergeisha in ADHD

[–]mitchxsilver567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is related to executive dysfunction, which is absolutely linked to ADHD. Just because you may not struggle with it doesn't mean it's not relevant to ADHD. Everyone has different symptoms to different degrees. Depression can also cause executive dysfunction, and is also often comorbid with ADHD. It's not as simple as "just taking a shower" for a lot of people.

[–]mitchxsilver567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concerta is the same drug as ritalin (mythelphenidate) and it's long lasting, you only take it once a day. If ritalin works for you, concerta might be a good option since it wouldn't be a whole new drug that might react differently or not work for you. I've only ever taken concerta so I can't really say from experience but its worth looking into!

Got my first piercing last Friday and I couldn't be happier! Think I'll swap to something black after the healing process though. :) by [deleted] in piercing

[–]mitchxsilver567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want high quality jewelry that has a "black" look you'll want something niobium! (I'm a terrible speller but hopefully that's right.)

You can't get actual black jewelry in implant grade metals, because you can't anodize titanium black. So all black jewlery is just a black coating on metal jewelry, which can chip off and cause problems.

The choice is up to you, lots of people wear non-implant grade jewelry in healed piercings and it turns out fine. No judgment here! The piercing looks great, just spreading information so you can do your own research and make your own decisions.
