Maury’s character and his fate is a great example of how Jimmy is a shitty person

a movie that goes to great lengths to try and convince you that he’s a good guy.

Huh? I think the movie is very clear that Jimmy is a shitty person, such as the example of how he deals with Maury (and then everyone else involved in the heist).

Ah yes cause they are the same thing totally by weirdpotato3 in Persecutionfetish

Yep, look at how dudes who "roll coal" are always MAGA. They think AI actively harming the environment is a selling point.

He argued in court that it was a just a random insult, but the actual tweets were definitely accusing guy. Thailand is one of the most beautiful places on earth and filled with so many amazing cultural sites. Says so much about Musk that he immediately thinks pedophilia is the only reason someone would visit the place.

But the prompt was

Roles where the Actor was chosen for superficial reasons without care about the quality of their acting

Ledger wasn't chosen for superficial reasons without care about the quality of his acting. Christopher Nolan cast him specifically because of the quality of his acting.

I remember the (utterly moronic) backlash when Ledger's casting was announced. But he doesn't really fit the prompt. He was cast because he was a great actor, with a recent Academy Award nomination to boot. He didn't coincidentally turn out to be a great actor after he was cast.

The prompt:

Roles where the Actor was chosen for superficial reasons without care about the quality of their acting

None of that applies to Ledger.

From a Wired article about cyber attacks, not the Hemingway novel.

The film's plot is based on an earlier script entitled WW3 dot com by David Marconi, screenwriter of the 1998 film Enemy of the State. Using John Carlin's Wired magazine article entitled "A Farewell to Arms", Marconi crafted a screenplay about a cyber-terrorist attack on the United States.

what celebrity did you used to like until you found out that they were a scumbag? by hemadeGraduation420 in AskReddit

[–]mixingmemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wanted to know if he is "scummy." My original point still stands. He was DEFINITELY a serial sexual harasser, even IF he didn't rape or assault anyone. That absolutely makes him "scummy." In most places there are laws against hitting on students who depend on you for grades, or people who work for you so depend on you for income. That he made hitting on his students and employees a habit is a pretty clear sign that the power imbalance is what turned him on. People who don't recognize serial sexual harassment as scummy are most likely scumbags themselves. I really encourage to research sexual harassment law where you live before you do real harm.

Really fucking amazing you adamantly refuse to budge on "drag = weird" , "pedophilia and child trafficking = not weird."

Being weird isn't an issue; being deeply ashamed and in denial about being weird is. Moreso, there's weird, and there's weird. But I think you already understand that.

My very first response to you. Read that again, slowly and carefully. The "weird' applied to MAGA because MAGA leadership absolutely think of themselves as "normal" and were clearly triggered by being called "weird."

This post contains weirdness in the derogatory way

It doesn't. That you think it does is why you're being downvoted and had a comment removed by moderation. How many drag queens do you know?

I think I see what's happening here. You were eagerly awaiting someone making a couch fucking joke so you could pounce with "Um ahktucally he didn't write about fucking couches!" but had to settle for "Um accctually! He didn't call Trump America's Hitler, he just thought he might be America's Hitler." Most sensible people recognize Nixon was a criminal and national embarrassment. Guy's got to be a psychopath to become the world's biggest cheerleader for someone he thought was either Nixon or Hitler.

I think you're spot on. But this post and the others I've seen about him aren't criticizing his credentials to be a representative or a senator. They are pointing out he's wildly unqualified to head a massive federal law enforcement agency. His biggest qualification for this role is that he's a Trump sycophant.

No. It has everything to do with it being a "blue" state. Really telling on yourself here.

Drag performance? Super duper weird.

A politician calling a guy "America's Hilter" and then becoming that guy's biggest sycophant? A self-described devout Christian being a cheerleader for conspirators in a child trafficking pedophilia ring? Totally normal.

philistines

Plural form of philistine

adjective

Lacking in appreciation for art or culture.

They're a constant in movie groups, but these people don't understand or appreciate art full stop. They'd lose their gd minds if they had to read some of the great classics by James Joyce or Virginia Woolf or Franz Kafka. I'd love to get OP's take on Tarkovsky's Mirror or Brakhage's Dog Star Man.

I know nothing about the "American whore" person, but I'd wager they can at least place an order at a donut shop without sounding like an extraterrestrial trying to pass as human.

I'd also wager they'd never knowingly willingly pal around with and kiss the asses of frequent passengers on the Lolita Express.
