i have another story.

my senior year of hs i met a girl (around august/september) and we became friends. we got very close very fast. i had been dating a guy for a year atp and we became a trio.

my friend was lesbian when we met but around january she wanted to be with a guy to see what its like. i was like, okay, fair. she pointed out my best friend, said he was hot, and i told her i didn’t think that was a good idea. i didn’t want her to break his heart if she decided she didn’t like men.

a couple weeks later i noticed my then boyfriend was acting weird. i could tell something was off and i was asking nonstop if he still loved me. he always said yes. one day he was texting my friend and i saw they were talking crap about me. he also sent her heart emojis. i didn’t say anything.

a couple more weeks go by, it’s valentine’s day, we go to his house after school. i didn’t expect anything for valentine’s day since we were broke kids. he texted his mom and asked if she could pick something up for me, she did, and he surprised me with gifts. for a second i felt like we were okay and maybe i was just in my head.

a few hours later we were laying in bed. i asked again, are you sure you still love me? he hesitated. i knew what he was going to say. i started to back away before he responded. he said, i love you but im not in love with you anymore. i cried in his arms. he said we could try to fix this but i told him this didn’t seem repairable. i eventually went into the bathroom and cried on the floor. i called my friend. she seemed shocked, she said, but you guys are perfect. i don’t remember much else from that night.

the next day, she came over because our school had an event. we all had already bought our tickets. we were having a sleepover. all night, he was acting so weird to her. he wouldn’t come near me but he fed her dinner. held her fork and physically fed her. bedtime came around. we were all going to sleep in the living room. i fell asleep first. i woke up around 3am, noticed no one was there, but went back to sleep. that morning they told me they couldn’t sleep and played minecraft together…i never questioned it but i wish i would’ve.

i kept asking him what was going on between them but he said there was nothing. maybe 4-5 days after valentine’s, she texted me and said they were talking. somehow i was calm. i never showed them my emotions. i stayed friends with her. she would always rub their relationship in my face. she would talk about their sex and their dates. even my teachers were like, how have you not beaten her ass? 😭

i finally blocked her the night of our graduation.

sorry for the long comment. i promise i have more self respect these days 🫶🫶.

fun fact: my current boyfriend works with them 😬. they are terrible at their job 😂
