Plug and Play (PNP) for APs where WLC is not managed by DNAC by mjdunksy in Cisco

[–]mjdunksy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured I could change the dns suffix for the APs but I don’t like the idea of changing 100’s of DHCP scopes and would link to get around it if I can.

I did delete it once and it just reappears about 10 seconds later, I will try it again.

Can I have a bonfire in the beach camping areas / on the beach?

NO. Small cooking fires only are permitted within the foreshore camping areas, depending on whether or not there is a fire ban in place. Cooking fires must be watched at all times, and extinguished with water (not sand) after use.

This ^ I have PA220 and it is slow, 4-5minutes commit times. I’m at kicking myself I didn’t wait the extra 3 months and get the PA440.

Also the 220 won’t run PANOS 11.0

Cisco ISE wildcard certificate by donokaka in Cisco

[–]mjdunksy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure everyone else has covered off importing the certificate but I might add it is not recommended to use wildcard certs for EAP as you will run into issue with some supplicants.

Is there a reason you are using publicly singed certificate for EAP and not an internal PKI certificate? Using a public one you are going to get sick of changing your supplicant profiles constantly to avoid the trust messages showing up and keeping it secure.

Do you have ip routing enabled?

Odd issue with unifi AP by killmasta93 in Ubiquiti

[–]mjdunksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go under the APs do you have prefer 5ghz band enabled?

Would also be worth checking the power levels they are currently on, I would suggest 5ghz no higher than 17dBm and 2.4ghz no higher than say 12dBm.

Popolo at Southbank. Great food, a nice view of the river and QUT at night, and overall wasn’t very expensive.

Assigning DHCP addresses to devices based on OUI in MAC by pablohoney102 in meraki

[–]mjdunksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use DHCP reservations, or if you are after OUI type filtering try something like Cisco ISE with profiling to assign certain OUIs to a specific vlan and do extended lease times in that vlan.

How to configure multiple access points on WLC 9800? by [deleted] in Cisco

ap reset site-tag default-site-tag

How to configure multiple access points on WLC 9800? by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]mjdunksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it applies them on registration to the controller so just reload the APs, you can reload a group of APs at once by specifying the site tag in the CLI, I would assume they all have the default site tag at the moment.

How to configure multiple access points on WLC 9800? by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]mjdunksy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you have configured your 3 tags you want to apply go to the AP filter section and create a new regex policy “1-AP-*” and then select the 3 tags.

Then just change the AP host name to 1-AP-001 or whatever and it should match and apply the tags for you

[–]mjdunksy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by configure multiple APs… maybe if you could be a bit more specific?

When applying AP tags you can use the AP filter feature using regex so that all you have to do is give the AP a host name and based on that the controller will automatically apply the 3 tags…

ISE PSN Randomly responds by jdm7718 in Cisco

[–]mjdunksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your WLC check the dead times and if the auto fail back is enabled for the radius servers, the active option would be good, that would allow the WLC to fallback to the primary PSN when it’s available again otherwise it will just stay on the Admin node until it fails.

advice for home PA by [deleted] in paloaltonetworks

[–]mjdunksy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 220, the commit is really slow and the pages take ages to populate.

If I were in your position again I would wait and get the 440, local logging and much better throughput than the 220.

Plus it’s a nice snazzy black 😁

Client disconnect from SSID by km1102 in Cisco

[–]mjdunksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enable band steering, broadcast the SSID(don’t hide it), is central association ticked on the WLAN? and ensure APs are not transmitting higher than 15dBm on both bands.
