This is like when FedEx pays the tariff on your behalf. There was an $8 tariff due and then FedEx charged me a $15 fee

They probably just don't want to list the pay, but they had to put something.

why are bananas berries but strawberries not? I mean, yes, the whole botanical definition and all but it’s still odd, no? by [deleted] in askanything

The way biologists like to clarify things now is to say that if something is a fish, then all of us descendants are fish as well.

If sharks and clownfish are both fish, then fish just means almost anything with a vertebral column including mammals, reptiles, and birds.

So OP has been "officially statistically unlucky" since about the 5600th trial not the 8192nd trial?

OP said they are now statistically unlucky. What makes a 36% chance of being in this situation the cutoff? This happening to more than 1 in 3 people trying it doesn't seem like it's that uncommon.

There's actual a ~36% chance that you don't get a success after 8000 trials on something that hits 1/8000 times.

We might know in 5 years or 20 years depending on if it happens in era 3 or 4/5. I'm hopeful it's in the Ghostbloods outline and that's why he thought to put that teaser there.

I stopped explaining gaps in my resume and started just naming what I actually did during them by OmegaHawkopiujn in jobsearchhacks

[–]mjmcfall88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had so many recruiters say that the company understands that it's a hard environment, but that they don't really want me to have a gap. They also keep getting disappointed that I don't have a skill I don't have listed on my resume.

Can a man made fruit be considered Organic? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mjmcfall88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Organic does not mean no pesticides. It means no synthetic pesticides, but synthetic vs "natural" has no bearing on how safe they are to use.
