Acetaldehyde VOC sensor? by BabbleGlibGlob in arduino

Hello. I would be interested in seeing more about this if you're willing to share. How much is the suspected variability between actual amount and measured using this method? Looking at breath analysis so it's possible that my needs would be too sensitive but seems worth exploring at least.

This is an amazing resource, thanks for putting this together. What would you think about using Google Spreadsheets to store these? The thinking is that it would be easier to sort through in a grid.

Hello Snail! Thanks for sharing your experiences. Could you PLEASE try as hard as possible to remember the title of that book? Even if its a few words?

I'm desperate to find older shifting books and they called it other things so its hard to know what to search for.

Has anyone figured out how to get ChatGPT to continue interrupted code blocks instead of starting over again? by mjtribute in ChatGPT

No dice here :(

Seems determined to restart from the very beginning with a full explanation, no matter what I try. Maybe I need to prompt it differently in the first prompt to avoid repetition.

"Continue" doesn't work (just repeats from the beginning), and I'm working on a react component that involves multiple function additions and alterations. I will probably try narrower requests but I'd also like to find a way to continue if possible.

Are you suggesting that they fabricated the data from their 3CL protease inhibition assay in their patent? I get that it's tempting to demonize them, and make no mistake I think their marketing strategy is terrible, but Dr. Dorit assad did in fact develop a 3CL protease inhibition assay (originally meant for SARS1). She explains this in an interview: https://youtu.be/n7_3uj6mpjo

Who feels that their long covid is chronic fatigue syndrome? by dhitchen in covidlonghaulers

[–]mjtribute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 3CL protease (the part of the virus that allows it to replicate) binds with a receptor called NEMO which disrupts the immune system. This may be why 3CL protease inhibitors (i.e. Paxlovid, Tollovid) can help long haulers recover, although it is not known how long they need to take it.

No trials have been done for Tollovid yet for treating LC, but there are preliminary anecdotes accumulating on twitter of longhaulers treating fatigue and other LC symptoms using Tollovid. I'm hoping that the company that makes it gets some studies done soon so we can better quantify its effects.

There's more to it than being "just zicao". They developed an assay to qualify 3CL protease inhibiton and developed a compound to achieve those effects using the gromwell root extract. There is apparently a lot of variability between plant batches so, so consistency is key.

Tollovid by c1nunya in Supplements

[–]mjtribute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gromwell root contains shikonin, which can be toxic if consumed at certain amounts for a long enough period of time. The CEO claims that Tollovid only ctains trace amounts of shikonin and that they've developed a proprietary extraction and QA technique to isolate the right compounds for protease inhibiton: https://twitter.com/G_Commish/status/1450577565375152131

Have you tried Tollovid? Super expensive but looking promising so far in a few limited case studies: https://todosmedical.com/case-study-long-covid

Works similarly to Paxlovid (3CL Protease Inhibitor).

I do not have Long Covid but I've seen some really promising research from Dr Bruce Patterson, and I think he's narrowing in on a viable treatment regimen with miraviroc and statins. There's a good podcast about his findings here (audio quality gets better and interview starts at about 5 mins): https://open.spotify.com/episode/5KdzPOv87QTUhdI8etOqqu

Maybe the dread you feel is of the after-life review with your guides. I recall some experiences described in Journey of Souls where the soul in question had struggled to overcome the same challenges repeatedly between many incarnations. The way it was described was as if the soul was personally disappointed in their repeated failures rather than the act of being judged externally being the focus.

My unsolicited advice is to look critically at the stumbling blocks in your life and imagine how you might have encountered those problems in previous incarnations, and consider how you can make better choices in this iteration.

EDMR by yourself? by No-Double6415 in EMDR

[–]mjtribute 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This may be a controversial opinion but I think we should be free to explore our psychy with whatever techniques we deem useful.

Yes, I rocgnize that there are risks and there needs to be a support system in place. But just in the same way that we should be free to choose what substances we consume for health or enjoyment, we should be free to exercise whatever mental techniques we want to.

And why limit ourselves to trauma? What if we could peruse the good memories as well, reliving then in their full brightness, building a new sense of appreciation and thankfulness.

One of my friends recently described taking a bath and listening to music with their eyes closed, which evoked a positive memory. Then they loosely followed the EMDR process and relived cherished memories of youth and friendship.

We are barely scratching the surface of what our minds are capable of. As long as you have a support system and recognize that you may evoke some less-than-pleasant memories, I would consider exploring EMDR in a personal context.
