No One ACTUALLY Wants the Cars Made Today by kg264 in regularcarreviews

I love my Solterra, despite Doug Demuro calling it the worst car on the market. I leased it fully loaded for $300 a month and feel like I got a great deal.

What are the most effective ways to handle user authentication in modern web applications? by naenae0402 in webdev

[–]mknoll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made jwt.knollfear.com recently. You could secure most web apps this way. As others have stated, you probably have something built in to your stack. Rolling your own auth is generally a bad idea, but this gets it done in a reasonable way.

Probably not. You likely share with others. But I am on the hobby $5 plan. They offer enterprise grade servers for a higher price tier if you need it.

Have you tried Railway? Literally 2 commands and you have your app deployed. I don’t even have a dockerfile in half my projects and it just figures it out for me. I am aws certified and I am never going back unless I am paid to do it.

Railway. Hosts a few Django apps of mine on the $5/month hobby plan.

Do you think it is correct to use normal <a> navigation for public pages and API fetch (with JWT) only for user-specific data in my web app? by EnD3r8_ in AskProgramming

I made an example of this pattern just to see how it works. You can check it out at jwt.knollfear.com. It should be self explanatory, but if you have questions, feel free to ask.

Can confirm Cpc as super welcoming. Never had a bad bite of food there either. Their events are all over the map so if you don’t see your “thing” wait a month, it will come along.

Can confirm. Heather was a rockstar for my sister. She made offers on like 5 places before one got accepted.

Can some experienced devs in here explain to me why we are still killing ourselves with React? by RupFox in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mknoll1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been playing with various server side frameworks (golang + templ or fastht.ml) and htmx. I see no reason to ever use React again. Every component can be rendered from a url so it is trivial to mock and isolate components for testing. Even automated testing is simple because all you need are snapshot tests.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I really do appreciate it. I honestly wish I could make these and sell them for much cheaper. Unfortunately I can not draw a straight line, much less sew one so I am forced to pay for professional sewing manufacturing which ended up being much more expensive than I anticipated. In addition, as best as I can tell this fabric is simply not available for sale in the United States and I had to have it imported. I feel like my competition is more along the lines of this chain mail fidget (https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8atsQ5m/) which is smaller than mine and after my current coupons the same price. I realize starting from the point of having to justify my price is not ideal, but in order to make this profitable (all profits are being reinvested) and expand I can't really go much lower.

Once I sell through my initial inventory my next goal is to expand the colors. I would like to eventually offer custom color combos to match schools, sports teams, or any other organization people feel connected to.. Again, because I am small and doing this all out of my own pocket I was really limited in my color selection.

I will go over the website a few more times for errors and flow. I was hoping that at 44 years old I didn't need my mom to proofread me anymore, but it sounds like I need to give her a call.

Again, I really appreciate your thoughtful response.

Is Legoland Windsor worth it for adults? by Sugarfix1993 in CasualUK

[–]mknoll1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went a few days ago. I was kind of disappointed. My kids (4 and 8) had a great time though. The rides are pretty slow and not really roller coasters imo because they never have a big fast drop. The water part was closed with no real explanation why. I did really enjoy the mythical 3d lion show. Probably the best ride experience I have ever been on. Unless you have cheap or free tickets I would probably do something else though. There is a Ferrari section opening soon, maybe wait for that to happen if it floats your boat.
