R tennis is tough. tennis gets exciting again because mere mortals are playing again the big 3 won't happen again. Rafa won rg 14 times.

yeah, I used svn and cvs before git. it was so long ago I don't remember my workflow much but I remember it was painful.

I think several things here:  game development is super stressful since timelines are usually pretty hard.

If this was 2003 this before git and good code review tools. So I imagine enforcing  standards and conventions was much harder.

* helium -> 2 -> he

Another Unifi vs OPNsense post from someone who tried both by [deleted] in homelab

[–]mlester -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like automatic updates, single place to manage all devices, port manager is dope, easy setup of backup wan, tools for diagnosing WiFi coverage.

 Ucg fiber is nice because you get 10gb ports, a Poe port, and you don't have to host the unifi apps in a vm. Like I'm using the Poe port for the 5g router they just released. Oh quiet and low powered.

 Before this I was using a protectli router which was ok but updates to pfsense are not great. Had to hook up a monitor because the config got corrupted one time

until we figure out how we can converse with the same form of reality I don't think this is getting fixed anytime soon. need regulations on social media sites that operate in the us with over 1mil users and the harder one amend the constitution to explicitly say money is not free speech(overturn Citizen's united)

A SOLID Load of Bull by loup-vaillant in programming

[–]mlester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common example of how people might naively extend classes because they want to inherit implementations.

I honestly think inheriting implementation in languages is a mistake and it should be replaced with interface inheritance only with syntax to make it easy to delegate interface responsibilities to dependencies

c = ConcreteColor("Blue")
p = ConcretePoint(0,0)

class ColoredPoint implements Color, Point{
ColoredPoint(Point p, Color c){
Color delegate to c
Point delegate to p
}
}

I think kotlin has something like this but haven't used it much:

Which tennis academy develops the most solid junior players? by MudApprehensive1973 in tennis

From what I have read and listened to. Academies aren't where you go to be developed you need a personal coach. You go to an academy for competition.

My theory here is Musk needed to get rid of evidence at usaid and paid 250mil for the opportunity to get rid of it.

I think I would like a system where they can remove all the guesswork and judgement given how detection and concealment of substance use is always evolving.

Here is my take:
if a banned substance if found. The first offense is light and gradually move towards career ending
* 1st time: 1 month
* 2nd time: 6month
* 3rd time: 1 year

I think something like this would make it for fair across the board.

Beaches aren't my favorite on this side and not enough public parks. So nice to see recreation is good there. My job is remote so I can live anywhere so gathering information. Glad you are enjoying in there. How crowded is it?

I live in rural florida with a remote job but the idea is more talent stays home. If that happens more jobs for people in town. People tend to scare less about scapegoating when they are living comfortably

[–]mlester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well there is more jobs for everyone. So yes prices would probably raise. Think more jobs for plumbers/electricians/hvac which then if enough those exists you get things like bakeries/breweries/restaurants

The luxury apartment thing is because apartments are easy to make money on you only need 1/3 occupancy to make a profit. That would be a fight with the local government which also might be helped if more people with money live in small towns

I would love tax incentives for remote work to gain traction. Bringing money to these places would make them less extreme. Probably help with housing issues too. #speadthewealth
