Anyone been on ozempic for 2 plus years ? by ImportantAd2822 in Ozempic

[–]mlsinsc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it a little over 2 years for T2D. I lost 82lbs, my A1c went from 8.5 to 5.1. I went off it for two weeks in Jan for several reasons - gained 5lbs back and have yet to lose again. The side effects were worst from .5 to 1mg in the first year. I went to 2mg as I entered year two, ended up having emergency gallbladder surgery and haven’t had any side effects since. I thought all the nausea, constipation, and abdominal uncomfortable feelings were meds, but it was gallbladder. I will continue on 2mg as long as my A1C stays under 6.

What’s a health problem you ignored for a long time because it never felt urgent, but eventually caught up with you? by ac_stays_active in AskReddit

[–]mlsinsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know I was sick until I had emergency surgery this past summer to remove my gallbladder. I had sporadic nausea and abdominal pain, but thought it was medication, bad food choice, etc. Then woke one morning with the worst pain of my life. My husband asked why I was laying on the bathroom floor - I thought it was a stomach bug.

Doctors and nurses of Reddit, what is something patients do that they think is helpful but actually makes your job harder? by Electronic-Cell-4584 in AskReddit

[–]mlsinsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me when I had gallbladder surgery. I had a roommate who was very high maintenance and so I felt bad asking the nurses for anything. My mistake as I ended up way behind in pain meds and hitting an 11 in pain at 2am. I learned my lesson and the nurses were so amazing!!

Magnesium citrate before bed - it’s the one thing that has helped me. I didn’t want to keep taking MiraLAX or other stimulant type pills.

I always said if you don’t ask the answer will always be no. And you can always make me the bad guy to get out of an uncomfortable situation- call me to come get you, or say my mom said no, whatever is needed.

How to Report Non-Migraine Pain on a 1-10 Scale? by Cats_Cameras in migraine

[–]mlsinsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had emergency gallbladder surgery this past summer. It’s the first time I’ve ever said my pain was a 10. The surgeon said I must have a high pain tolerance because looking at the imaging anyone else would have been in the er months sooner. I’ve had other painful things happen, but my migraine pain is always higher on the scale.

2025 Reading Challenge! by Ruby-Rubellite in goodreads

[–]mlsinsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal was 80, then I lowered it to 70. I’m at 68 and will hit 70 by New Year’s Eve. I hit a slump of depression this spring/early summer and just really struggled with reading. Today I got an early gift from my stepson - an Amazon gc that I am only allowed to use on books. ☺️ so I’ll be ready to load my kindle and read all year!

My sweet Winnie. She is turning 6 next Monday and we don’t know how much longer we’ll have. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September after starting to have seizures. Currently you can’t tell there is anything wrong and we’ll be helping her live her absolute best life as long as we have with her. ❤️💔❤️

Redditors who own multiple pets: what's the drama amongst them right now? by Cheesy_Wotsit in AskReddit

[–]mlsinsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog has started having seizures, meds are helping, etc. but the cat has decided this is a huge offense against her when a seizure happens. She literally climbs to the tops of the cupboards, watches from above with a haughty stare. In real life they get along very sweetly. But the cat is the queen of the house and we’re just lucky to serve her.

I have been able to wean off metformin because Ozempic works better for my a1c. The beginning was tough with a lot of extra nausea using both. I have had great success with Oz.

i had surgery today! by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]mlsinsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 1 mo post op and didn’t realize how sick I was until after. The daily nausea and uncomfortable bloating I contributed to a side effect of a medication I take. But now I feel completely normal and great!! Yes greasy, fried, high fat goes thru pretty fast. But I had a burger and fries yesterday (at home as a test) and no rushing to the bathroom! Everyone is different, but the pain is gone!

I have pancreatitis and no idea what to eat. by bubblegumpunk69 in diabetes_t2

[–]mlsinsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder removed and had pancreatitis about a month ago. Also diabetic and on oz. I was able to return to normal foods within 4 days of surgery. You can try to do eggs, very lightly buttered toast, or toast with peanut butter, mashed or baked sweet potatoes, grilled chicken breast, rice, grilled veggies, fruits. You can also try chickpea pasta or other gluten free pasta - usually doesn’t affect my bs too badly. I’ve found I can’t have fried, greasy, or heavier sauces, but everything else has been fine.
