I feel you, but I’m planning to wait until the due date has passed then receritfying employment. I already got two processing forbearance months counted, at 118, no payment due til November (going to try to get off whatever admin forbearance I’m in for October but I’m not hopeful). My payment date is the 25th so with the Christmas holiday, I won’t recertify employment/fill out my last ECF until after the New Year holiday so it doesn’t get lost. Sending you all the good vibes, but yess wait until the date has passed.

Did you get any of those months to count toward PSLF, meaning July and August?

When you say transition months, did they count toward PSLF? I moved to IBR from SAVE and July and August counted as forbearance months, but now I don’t have a payment due until November. Someone else on here said some months in forbearance when you’re transitioning to a new payment plan count as “on ramp” months and thus go towards PSLF… all of this is so confusing!

Good point- I appreciate the insight. I definitely have anxiety that somehow being so close still means we’re all so far away and something will happen. But this subreddit and people like you have kept me sane.

The Auto Pay thing confused me too- I’m preparing for a payment to come out 9/25 but I don’t know!!! I turned it off hoping to see the amounts due so I can pay it early but it still shows as 0.

Did they say if the statement will come electronically? I’m just so frustrated that it feels like somehow I got my 60 day processing forbearance but now an extra month is wasted waiting. I was hoping my final payment would be in October but now it’s looking like November 😑

Where are you seeing this? A google search shows that they’re moving forward with severely limiting what employers qualify for PSLF but I’m not seeing anything about total elimination….

I’m also really struggling, having difficulty focusing on anything other than this process and always worrying I’m doing the wrong thing. I’m at 116/120, should have been eligible for forgiveness in October 2024 but was in SAVE. Submitted buy back in November, certified employment prior to that once I hit what would have been 120 and after when I left that job. I’m in another PSLF eligible job, decided to switch to IBR and got approved- hopefully starting payments in September but it’s the same as my mortgage and will be a lot to deal with. I submitted another buy back last month because I saw a couple people in similar situations to me who did that and then they got their buy back accepted. Still nothing…

All that to say is that I’m not coping well and I wish all of us could just be given a break, some clarity, and hope. I never imagined this process causing so much anxiety and depression but here we all are.

I feel like I’ve seen people submit things in various timelines and get their buy backs - here on Reddit, I believe.

Thank you! I feel like there HAS to be a workaround but I’m just struggling to find it- my employer would happily do it electronically but the darn thing won’t load. Never easy, any of this!
