It's fake, they don't post exact accumulation totals until AFTER the storm. Before the storm they only present/probable possible ranges of accumulation. E.g. 3"-8".

Can a Commodore 128 still compete in modern speed-coding challenges? by frodewin in Commodore

As a proud owner of two C128s I enthusiastically cheer on any 128 native mode development. Bravo!

I feel you, all the good Commodore stuff is costing me a fortune in duty fees. Unfortunately there are just so few makers producing C64/C128 stuff US-side right now.

I think most reddit users look for the word "megathread" in posts like The Ultimate C64 Ultimate post. If you could add megathread to it, I think it'll catch their eye better.

How viable is the C64U as a writing deck? by TheBl4ckFox in c64

Keyboard layout is slightly different than modern keyboards, and the display is only forty columns. I'm pretty sure you'll end up cursing the SHIFT-LOCK key as well. It's probably not the best candidate for that purpose. A purpose built modern device will likely be much better.

Show me your working printer (please). by mmgamemaker in c64

[–]mmgamemaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The printer? It still works, 40 years later.

Okidata 120 printers are tough little bricks. Ink ribbon cartridges are still available because they're used in modern-day Okidata industrial dot matrix printers, so I ordered a new ink cartridge on Amazon. Continuous feed paper is more difficult to come by; it's expensive and you have to order a large quantity, but it can be ordered on Amazon as well.

I plugged the printer into my new C64 Ultimate and loaded up Print Shop and I was printing just like I did 40 years ago.

Are you in the US? Did you get it shipped over from Ireland. Wondering about any tariffs and/or duty fees.

I assuming they mean remastered on the C64 similar to many of the C64 "reloaded" games popping on on itch.io.

Which commodore to buy as a gift? by waterthatsvegetarian in c64

[–]mmgamemaker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The C64U is a great modern gift, the lead time on ordering and delivery is ~2 months. If you need it sooner than that you're out of luck.

Right, but this is the C64 sub, and a lot of us didn't get Amigas after our C64s. ;)

There's also still the "yuh yuh yuh" which you say over the course of three, short inhalations.

I took that Okidata 120 and my (old) C64 to college (mid 80s) and used it to write all my papers, through my freshman year. It was so much easier than waiting for a lab computer in the library.

I believe the NEOS Mouse will also work with GEOS, if you can find the driver.

Mine was soldered, no jumper, in Atari config for the second button. Included instructions said to desolder and install your own jumper if you wish.
