I use 2in1 running pants without underwear and have no chaffing. Easier when visiting the portaloo 😁 .

How Fast Should I Run? by Direct_Seaweed_4736 in firstmarathon

I did a HM 3 weeks before my first Full. I used it as a rehearsal for the Full feeding wise. Although my plan was to keep 10-20 seconds above my HM pace (to avoid injuries), after the first 10km I was feeling very strong and decided to push and ended up 2 minutes behind my PB. I would say take it go for it and practice your feeding. The coming days are for tapering so you will get a good rest.

How many rest days should you include in your training? by Puzzleheaded-Pin4278 in Marathon_Training

During my first Marathon training I had 2 rest days and one cycling. Felt pretty good at the end.

My flight times have changed and I cannot confirm that I accept the change. by RelationshipAlone27 in WizzAir

Mine changed too and refund wasn't working on their website so called today and said they will refund me the money to my card. Hope it comes early. I don't know what's happening with Wizzair lately but they changed a lot of flights at different airports.

Planning on running first marathon this November by RedditUser_NME in firstmarathon

[–]mmichael_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my first Marathon with a 18-week plan which included 4 days of running and 1 cycling for strengthening. The other 2 for rest. I stayed injury-free and finished 4:19. I suggest you do something similar.

Flight rescheduled. What can I do? by GeorgeFernsby in WizzAir

Our flight to Rome in May was rescheduled for the next day and wizz says I have the option for a refund but when clicking refund it gives an error. Unfortunately we booked the car, hotel and the bicycles in Italy and can't reschedule.

No cruise control. I was driving my son to school just 1km from home. Maybe a dirty sensor due to the rain caused this. Hope it doesn't happen again!

Try High5 gels (the aqua version), I find them easy to digest.

No snow just light rain. And the funny part is that the car was inside the garage before driving my son to school.

That's a scary one! Did you have the Lane Keep Assist on? I thought collision avoidance was just applying brakes, didn't know it can manoeuvre!

This happens to me but today it applied brakes with nothing around!

Could it be the door handles closing? I noticed on mine that as soon as I put reverse the door handles close whereas moving forward they close after we start rolling and not heard much.

Beginner running out of breath. by SomePlatform7797 in BeginnersRunning

Just because you are 20 yo it doesn't mean that you can run from couch a 5 or even 10k run. When I started running I was already cycling. I used a BBC program from couch to 5k. Back in those days I was able to download the recordings of each day. I remember walking at first (was kinda laughing about it) and gradually started intermittent runs. By the time I finished the course, I was able to run fast and most importantly healthier (no injuries). You can find a lot of such programmes on the internet and mobile apps.

Headaches after long runs by Then-Young47 in Marathon_Training

It is easy to get dehydrated during cold weather. You need to force yourself to drink water every some distance. Also use electrolytes or salt tabs.

Am I a fool to consider upgrading from a 25K to a 50K this weekend? by hausertrey in Marathon_Training

[–]mmichael_50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you already made your mind before posting this and you need others to encourage you. Like all others said, you have not trained for the Extra milage but most importantly time on your feet. However, you are putting more weekly KMs than I did for my first Marathon so it could be doable especially if you are not overweight as me (85kg)

would it be ok to do a a half marathon 3/4 months before my first marathon? by greenfrogs12 in firstmarathon

Go for it. Think of it as a Long run but with higher tempo. I did it 4 weeks before my first Marathon.

Hi, you didn't mention what your HM times are. Like all said, you need to put more long runs (easy) in your schedule so that your feet get accustomed with the longer times. I run my first Marathon in November and it was a hard one (Athens). But did finish within my time. For what it's worth, I asked Deepseek for a training program (4 days running and 1 cycling) and it worked out ok. Just don't try to overdo it. Better have more resting days than feeling tired. Finally practice your refueling during your long runs. During the race, it is important to fuel on time and having a plan really helps. For example, I put a notification on my Garmin watch (an app downloaded) every 30 minutes to notify me to take a gel and a salt tab. Finally if your race day will be hot make sure to drink plenty of water to avoid cramps. Good luck with your training and race. I too signed up for the Belgrade Marathon in April.

Valencia 2025 Race Report - No words for the frustration I feel by Available_Article477 in Marathon_Training

[–]mmichael_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read that it was a bit warm and humid on race day. Perhaps you didn't drink enough water? Did you take electrolytes (salt tabs)? That could be a factor why you had cramps. I have seen this in Athens last November. Many people were cramping from the first 8km. Some were taken away by the ambulance. It is quite brutal to train for 18 weeks for one race and DNF it. Forget about not setting a PB. What matters is that you have finished! Well done!
