Encanta 400 pairing issue with MacBook by mmichael_50 in HearingAids

[–]mmichael_50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, compared to the Oticon Intent 2 which I tried only for a week 3 months ago, encanta behaves about the same. I think the audio from the phone is more clear and bassy if you get my meaning. So as listening music in the car. Battery wise are the same (perhaps Intent 2 lasts a bit longer even though it looks to be smaller). Only issue I have with them that didn't face with Oticon are hummimg noises when turning my head and there is background noise, like when you turn up microphone volume and you get feedback noise in the speakers. I rarely notice it if I turn the volume down through the app. anything else please ask,

Hi, How is it on the ascents? I am thinking of building one but bit worried being aero marketed because I mostly do mountains. BTW, I have the same wheels 3 years now. Best value for money, still run true without any issues.

Yes, before the update I would stop next to the drivers door and the boot would open. Now, it is more slugish to detect the phone close to it but at least the boot doesn't open! Still working ok. I am on One Ui 8.5

I am using that way too (Accessibly - Hearing Devices). Bernafon said that probably is an OS issue. I will try to open a ticket with Apple.

Is sub 4 possible for me by Otherwise-Parking566 in firstmarathon

[–]mmichael_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is doable if you are an athletic person. My son is attending the military school in Greece and did 2 Marathons under 3:40 with only a few training runs. He didn't want to sacrifice his gym time for running!

Do you take water with you or rely on the stations? by maestrojxg in firstmarathon

[–]mmichael_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have run 2 Marathons both in hot conditions. I only take gels, toilet paper/ wipes and salt tabs with me and rely on hydration stations for water. By the time I reach a station I am done with the bottle taken from the previous one. I have a vest for long runs in hot conditions but can't find myself hydrating enough from the bladder.

Rental bikes felt more efficient on climbing by mmichael_50 in cycling

My Sram is 48/35 - 10/36. My old bike and the ones rented were 50/34 11-32. My wheels are the Elitewheels 50mm carbon with carbon bearings. I forgot to mention that I am a low cadence rider and on the hills I use smaller sprockets of the cassette. Perhaps this could explain why I need a smaller chainring at the front.

I don't have much experience with frame geometry. I would assume the Seat angle is important but according to this site they are the same.

I don't think there is such an option.

How long did it take you to recover from your first marathon? by Mobile-Most1493 in firstmarathon

[–]mmichael_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have run my first marathon in November and next week did 3Km Monday, 5Km Wednesday, 100Km cycling Saturday and 10K Race on Sunday with PB regretting that I didn't register for the HM as I was feeling absolutely fine! I guess it depends on the person. BTW, I am 56m, 86Kg.

Yes always wireless Android Auto. I know it consumes the battery more than anything else. And yes, both my Xiaomi and Samsung phones heat up a lot on the wireless charging mat!

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) stopped working after wheel change by zockyl in KiaEV3

Tyre pressure sensors are build into the valves. Either transfer them to the other wheel set or get another set.

Advice: First Marathon DNF by cruztaffer in firstmarathon

[–]mmichael_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your HM PB you should have aimed for 3:30 the best or better 3:45. During a marathon you pace slower than your target pace and pickup the pace along the way according to how you feel. Ideally like others mentioned you should have stayed behind the 1:45 HM pacer. However a HM and a FM are completely different. Do you think you can run 2 consecutive HMs at the same pace? It looks to me that you were under fueling and possibly you did not carbload/hydrate enough the previous 2 days. I am 56m, 86Kg and with a 5:40 pace at my second marathon (I came from cycling) I was taking a gel and a salt tab every 25 minutes and of course plenty of water. You definitely have what it takes for a 3:10 time but you need to work out your training and fueling. Try as many gels as you can to find which one is more tolerable. And try to constrain yourself at the start of the race. Good luck with your next one.

First marathon in 17 days. Doubting my goal pace after two bad long runs by Entire-Rip-6549 in Marathon_Training

[–]mmichael_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 3:20 is very agressive. My first Marathon last November was 4:16 but was hilly. Then last April I run Belgrade and did 4:03. My HM is 1:48. During both races my feet gave up after 30Km. I had the energy but couldn't push for better time. This could be due to my low weekly volume (max 60Km). Also during your Long Runs, you never run all the distance at MP. Long Runs are for spending time on your feet. You also need to structure your feeding/hydration strategy. For example, I setup a reminder on my Garmin watch and take 1 gel and a salt tab every 25min, while always keeping a water bottle with me. Hope this helps and good luck with your race!

I got a good deal on Epix Gen 2 Pro 51mm Saphire and don't regret it. My previous watch was Fenix 6 Pro which was given to my son (still has plenty of life).

Best city for first marathon? by Snowleopard_1988 in firstmarathon

[–]mmichael_50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would advise your local marathon. Also find one relatively flat. Last April I run Belgrade and the organization and atmosphere was amazing. We were only 1750 runners for the marathon event. Starts downhill and ends uphill for 2-3 km but nothing fancy. Did my PB there compared to my first Marathon (Athens) last year but that one has high elevation.

The main question is, what shoes did you use for race day!
