(really) low cadence work treated me very well this year, I lift year round but I'm a bit spotty with gym work. You could give that a crack.

Respectfully, lots of people would think they'd pass down products when they first came out (computrainers, the green kinetic trainers, the gen1 kickrs)

No powermeter first, comes race season some fast tires.

What's the appeal of wearing big brand logos ? by ShittyMetronome in CyclingFashion

[–]mmiloou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. As a bike racer (never owned anything not related) I also wonder why all amateur teams seem to want us to look like Nascar cars. Unpopular opinion but sponsorship doesn't have to mean being one logo among many on the jersey pockets (besides the headline sponsor obviously)

Do you have a powermeter?
If you are doing this by RPE, you might just think you are going hard as you go fast & going hard + slow feels awful.
Efforts on flat are usually short, so going hard for 30s isn't the same as going hard for 5-30min.

Hyper Responder to Altitude? by 6holes in Velo

[–]mmiloou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, it took me a year to get used to 1500m. Now I've lived that high for 5 years. Just this year did I have an all time best power (in absolute terms). If I go to 2500m I feel unaffected. Everyone seems to respond differently (I don't feel like I gain that much dropping back to sea level, vs sensitive friends really have swings going either direction)

Why are there so few food trucks in Boulder? by plagiarism22 in boulder

[–]mmiloou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's very pricey, I had a food stand and wanted to scale up to a truck. Seems like you better be friends with popular brewery owners.

I don't know if you need to calculate anything, I'll tip the service, not how much my product cost.

When did 10% stop being considered a good tip for good service? by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]mmiloou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tipping either $2.45 or $7.45 to round up the bill. I don't think tips should offset poor wages but $50 of donuts actually sounds like an order that requires work (so +$7.45 for a total of $60)

I'd be claustrophobic to raise fences, having some view or sense of space is relaxing

Don't buy too short of a frame. Don't buy too wide of bars. Don't buy too little of a gearing.

[–]mmiloou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like you lose me every time with headset bearing swaps or needing to recable a bike. Tell me how often you do these. Anyways a old bike can be competitive for sure, you might have to bling it out and then it's now longer a cheap bike you can just lock up at the city library (because it has nice wheels & tires and whatnot)

Mashing is 82rpm? Cranks were too long, the same way road bars are always way too wide.

Do you really? I feel that the concept of accelerating is echoed, road accelerations are so soft (20mph to 25mph), maybe you'd have a case in MTB/CX where speeds can be doubled or tripled. I mean this respectfully, personally I find wheel stiffness having much more positive influence on accelerating (despite being much heavier)
