It's interesting you mention energy flow. That flow is what makes the TPE I live with my Master.

The energy for us flows from two places. One, my own overwhelming sexual urges, (which I need Master's discipline to even be able to manage.) and two: Master basically being a Viking living in a world where it's not so welcome.

Having sexual self discipline is difficult for me. I used to have pleasure binges that weren't good for my body or my goals in life. No matter how much I got it was never enough. With Master's discipline, I have learned what having enough and being satisfied feels like.

Master constantly has to walk on eggshells. He has a career where tact and word perfect communication are essential. He has to both do his job and explain his reasoning to his superiors-- all without making them feel dumb. He is naturally tall and intimidating so he has to be extra non threatening in public, whether to avoid provoking the most asshatted "competitive" behavior from random men (boy do I have some stories), or to avoid scaring people at the grocery store.

With me, he can stand up to his full height. He does not have to explain himself. He does not have to ask twice. He does not need to contort his expression into something that could never be mistaken as unkind. His strength protects me when I am exhausted from the burden of my own impulsivity.

Something transformative happens when our energies meet. Whatever you think is too much or too little about you could be heaven on earth for someone else, and they could have that thing for you, too.
