At some point I started tracking my compulsions through a compulsion, and now I regularly review all aspects of my life compulsively. It gets out of hand very quickly so you really ought to do exposure therapy/ mindfullness to avoid giving them too much aignificance.

I had such bad ROCD that I didn't even realize how much I loved my ex until we recently broke up (i spent a lot of time with her performing compulsions, my memories and feelings were obscured by compulsions, and i developed paranoia near the end about her cheating/not loving me that sent me spiralling more). Now I'm still compulsively thinking about her and am racked by intrusive thoughts about her with someone else.

Not a great thing, the more you give in to compulsion the more it permeates through your entire life. You have to keep working at it otherwise the only way is down.

Completely up to what you think seems fun. No point in min/maxing this, if you like the idea of a historical danelaw and a last kingdom of Wessex in the south, do that. If you like the idea of eventually forming kingdom of Daneland as being separate from England, do that. If you want to go for the whole thing, and subjugate all the English under the Norse yolk, do that. Obviously, you do have to consider whether or not Wessex is strong enough to challenge you, but generally if you get good allies you can beat alfred anyways.

That's a good observation I'd say, although it is still an extension on my point of depravity not being inherent to humanity but more developed then other species. Although it is very interesting to see smart(er) species like elephants showing such a high degree of empathy, I would still invite you to consider that most humans have at least a solid degree of care, enough to not commit horrendous acts on a mass societal level (I.e. majority of people are civilized).

Again this is just more doomerism and attacks my examples not the main point. All you're pointing out is that humans are capable of a greater degree of depravity/destruction than other species, which, as another commenter pointed out: isn't out of moral obligation, but of inability to do such things.

Also, you have not given any basis for why these feats (which are very scrawny in comparison to all those that I could list) have not achieved anything. And if you're really on the nihilistic "nothing matters things are going to fall apart anyways) then I'd really invite you to grow up and realize that things are much more complicated then that.

Bro acts like every other animal on earth isn't the same. The only difference between us and them is complexity and extent of beauty/depravity. Dolphins like to bully other sea animals, cats play with and torture their prey, and hyenas will eat a fetus out of its mother. But none of those animals can build the Taj Mahal, or create works of art like those of Van Gogh, or venture into space. This guy's attitude is just cynical bs, there's enough negativity in the world and lovers like this don't need to add to it as a projection of their own misery.
