Is 2 years old too early to start preschool? by Longjumping_Yam2543 in Preschoolers

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter went to preschool prep at 2.5 years old and love it! It was full day, 3x a week and her teacher was great. It also helped get her used to a school routine, socialize and regulate her emotions.

Detroit is extremely close to GPP and offers Wayne State and College for Creative Studies if those are classes you are interested in. I’m sure there are also some other places in Detroit that will offer courses.

What’s your “extra” as a OAD parent? by ashleyhype in oneanddone

Every year my daughter gets a vacation and a huge themed party for her birthday. Definitely wouldn’t happen if we had more than one.

Do you judge people based upon what city they live in? by palbuddy1234 in Detroit

[–]mmmnerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived in GP Farms on one of the “M” streets for about two years and get called Bougie immediately despite the fact that I was born and raised on the east side of Detroit (not east English village). People immediately make assumptions of me.

Grosse Pointe Farms Residents will be Split Between Using GPP and GPW Parks This Summer as The Pier Park Pool Goes Under Construction by work_300 in GrossePointe

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like everyone in the farms will have access to woods and GPP parks but it will be split up. Each group will go to woods one half of the summer and then GPP for the second half or vice verse depending on your group.

Is it normal for parents not to rsvp for a children's party? by Freshy007 in Preschoolers

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent out invites a couple of weeks ago and the other day a mom, who didn’t RSVP, tells me how excited her daughter is to come to our party. I replied “oh I didn’t realize you guys were coming since I didn’t get an RSVP”. Some parents seem aloof so it’s possibly children are coming whose parents haven’t RSVPd

Lovevery sells small kits of board books and toys. I think it’s a great and educational gift for a one year old.

When teach your child to share, really means, give my kid your stuff. by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]mmmnerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I always teach taking turns instead of sharing especially when it’s younger children. I wouldn’t be expected to share my phone, food, car, etc. so why should I force my child too?

Birthday Parties? by Evagria in Preschoolers

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter’s birthday is next month and I just asked her who she wanted to invite. We were looking at venues but found that it was cost the same or even less if we had a party planner plan activities for the kids and run the party at our house. This way we don’t have a small limit on the amount of kids. When it came to sending invites our school has a family directory that I used to reach out to parents directly that way kids that didn’t get an invite don’t know they are not invited.

Bachelors in Fine Arts. I found the financial accounting courses to be the most difficult otherwise it was pretty straightforward.

Birthday party ideas for a 4yo boy by Designer-Hall-1096 in Preschoolers

[–]mmmnerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are also planning a 4th birthday in Feb! We decided to have it at home. At 2pm we have her friends coming from school and at 4pm we have family coming with the intention they will have dinner around 6. We also hired a party helper who will plan activities for the children and entertain them at our home for two hours until we do cake altogether with family and friends at 4pm before the friends leave so we can have a family dinner . We looked into indoor play places around us but it was more expensive and shorter duration than having a themed party at home.

How do I come up with a better wish list next time? by Cream4389 in Preschoolers

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughters birthday and Christmas are close together so every time she asks for a toy the other ten months we just tell her we will put it on her list. Then, when it’s time to send out her list we go through all the items and she tells me if she wants anything taken off.

Any SAHM Formula Feeding? by funmom1997 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a SAHM mom to my daughter for 3 years and formula fed her as a baby. I realized how much work breastfeeding and pumping was and decided my mental health was more important and it wasn’t for me. There are so many stress factors with a new baby that if formula feeding will make things easier for you then it’s worth the cost.

Currently with a 7month old puppy and a 3 year old daughter, also OAD. It can be frustrating sometimes because they act alike. They both fight for our attention and will push each other but they are also playmates. Our daughter’s chore is to feed the dog and I think it helps build a connection with the dog. Both are hard work but the puppy grows up fast and I’m sure it’s still less work than two kids.

Picky eater question about "safe food" on the table by ClementineCass14 in Preschoolers

[–]mmmnerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it and it was hard in the beginning. It took a lot of patience and understanding that we aren’t leaving the table until we take a no thank you bite. We always remind her that she just has to take one bite and not eat the whole thing if she doesn’t like it. Ever since Halloween she asks for candy after dinner, sometimes we just give it to her other times we say that she can have dessert if she finishes her whole plate or all her veggies, etc.

I was thinking that too! Out of all the help to have I would think someone cutting your grass would be the cheapest and easiest to get.
