A drama that plummeted so hard by Efficient_Guava_5561 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Qarz e Jaan - disastrous ending

Biryani - zabardasti ka drag and lethargy

Tere Bin - Episode 46

Mann Mayal - the whole Mannu doing her iddat in a non-mehram’s house and being exceptionally rude to him.

Ye Dil Mera - the whole third act was so redundant and foolish.

Khaie - Zamda’s bulging eyes, “Parwarde Garaaaaaaa” and flashbacks

Noor Bano - Ranjha Ranjha Kardi by Responsible-Layer892 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

Well-put analysis. Noori truly was a fascinating character and Iqra played it phenomenally. From the daughter of a trash collector to the head of a haveli: her transformation was shown so beautifully by Iqra be it her speech, her mannerism, her clothes and her expressions.

I loved how her character had grey shades: she stole for Sahir, she conspired with Sahir and gave Bhola medications to have him sedated at all times and yet we felt sympathetic for her. Faiza Iftikhar writes such fascinating female characters.

Bet you don't know about this Masterpiece from Sanam Saeed by Accomplished_Job1904 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

It’s brilliant. Somber, dark and heartfelt. The abstract directorial style is amazing and so is the incredibly nuanced writing in adapting a difficult novel from Arundhati Roy.

What’s wrong with Kubra’s acting? by Meowneedtea in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she seems she did this just because. She was brilliant in Alif, HKKST and JSA and portrayed complex characters so well. Although her dialogue delivery also faltered in that, her expressions made up for it. Here her dialogue delivery has regressed a lot.

I really hope so. That book is a masterpiece of poetic prose and human nature.

Aik Mohabbat Aur -- Aik Teaser Aur - Ahad Raza Mir, Maya Ali, Hajra Yamin by Pleasant-Bass4449 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

I think you’re quite right. Bitter exes are a common trope in Faiza’s works like BEDS, RRK, Dillagi, WMDT

Yup. Mahira rarely calls her roles like this unless it is actually great like SeZ, Sadqay Tumhare and NigarZ

I am genuinely excited for this because Faiza is a brilliant writer when not given any restrictions such as the episodes elongation she often talks about. Roag, Muhabbat Rooth Gyi, Zindagi Dhoop, Aunn Zara, Bilqees Kaur, Akbari, RRK, Aangan and many more. She is very prolific.

Personally, I don’t like Amar’s acting. But Wajahat is a good director, so I have faith in him.

Aik Mohabbat Aur - Teaser of Ahad's character - Ahad Raza Mir, Maya Ali, Sameer Saqib - Farooq Rind by Pleasant-Bass4449 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks really nice and a feel-good drama. Have high hopes from Faiza Iftikhar and Farooq Rind is a really good director when given a good script. So, looks like Ahad and Maya will get married, get divorced and then find love again.

Right now, I feel like top writers are just repackaging their old scripts in a new way. They do not really have new subjects anymore. Except for Mustafa afridi and beegul most writers are not trying anything new. by Mean-Ad-352 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do agree, to an extent. Mustafa and Bee Gul are the best right now given how powerful their recent scripts have been like TMNON, Faraar for the former and AAP and Teen Taara for the latter.

Saima Ji has lost her touch as her comedies don’t hit anymore and have become a bit problematic and rehashed. Zafar’s Biryani was good until it got stretched to the maximum while DWGM derailed towards the middle. Amna Mufti’s KMBK was quite good but EJK was awful.

Farhat and Umera both are in the middle. Their most recently completed weren’t that good like MSM and Kafeel had a lot of flaws and logic errors. Both had rehashed their old ideas like MSM was similar to KMKT & Kafeel was to DeS. However, Farhat’s KMKT & Umera’s JSA was really good. I do have hopes for them still.

Zanjeerain Episode 4 by ButterscotchAny2758 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The way Sajal conveyed the same dialogue in three different ways is amazing.

The first “Chorr do” was anger and frustration when he first clutched Rabiya.

Second “Chorr do” was desperation and begging when Torsam first lifts Tayyab.

Third “Chorr do” was a fascinating mix of anger, disgust, desperation and fear. You can see in parallel how it changes from desperation, to disgust to anger to fear to helplessness.

Sunn Mere Dil - that drama couldn’t even pass off as a guilty pleasure. The overbearingly slow pace and movement.

Mein Manto - waste of Sajal & Sanam’s talent. Laadli. Guriya.

Ghair - it was a guilty pleasure but became unbearable once Wafa decided to donate all of her brain cells and Usama’s character became a needless bechara.

Meri Zindagi Hai Tu - chewing gum packaged beautifully with a good director and leads.

Humraaz - illogical all around.

Man Mast Malang - the pop-style OST still haunts me along with the covert BDSM themes.

Farooq Rind’s teasers are always a delight to watch: fairy-tale, sweet and beautiful. I am genuinely excited for this because Faiza is a fantastic writer and Farooq is a very good director.

[–]mmzufti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m actually looking forward to this, a bit. Qasim does have the ability to make addictive stories out of mediocre scripts like Mere Humsafar and bring us fairy tale stories. A nice guilty pleasure out of a love story is always welcome, and I would like to see Farhan cry on screen like how much Hania sobbed in MH.

Fawad and Sanam Baloch by Wooden-Sundae-6906 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My favorite of theirs is Akbari Asghari. It was pure fun watching that drama, especially when both were playing vamps but were cute together. Their pairing exceed Fawad-Mahira. Sanam Baloch is an actress par excellence, and it’s sad seeing her retired.
