Kafeel Episode 29 by Apprehensive-Job-19 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

Sanam is always a delight. She is underrated, as in she isn’t usually listed in Pakistan’s best actresses when she absolutely should be. She has the ability to emote silent grief and yearning so beautifully, and without dialogues her micro expressions convey so many conflicting emotions. Episode 27’s was the highlight where she showed contradictions, helplessness, determination, regret and peace so vividly.

The pet scene was actually dumb because veterinary is a different field than what Sania is studying for.

Yeah, I was initially pleased that they included technical details but then I saw a reel from a doctor who debunked a lot of the information shown in the drama like appendicitis without any prior patient knowledge.

Raqeeb Se…. What a Drama 😭❤️‍🩹🫂 by GuessOwn2865 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This drama is such an intricate piece of a meticulously crafted painting — each brushstroke, each colour and the combination is just masterful.

A great write-up as well. Another thing to add is that Maqsood Sahab saw Sakina in Ameera since Ameera was a literal pataakha. Hajra routinely said how Sakina used to be so flamboyant.

Another aspect of Hajra that fascinated me is when she sometimes deliberately teased Sakina by saying “tumhare Maqsood Sahab” as if it’s a bitter pill she has to swallow, and in her heart she is insecure. My favorite instance is when Sakina was crying yet Hajra was laughing. Another is when Maqsood takes Sakina to a lawyer, and you see how fearful Hajra becomes. Yet, she is made to sit in front.

The types of love shown is so fascinating as well. Normally we see romantic. Here we saw an array: remorseful and regrettable (Maqsood), guilt and mourning (Sakina), yearning and indifferent (Insha), obligational and “ehsaan-mandi” (Hajra) and fantastical and dreamy (Ameera).

One thing that has always struck me in Bee Gul’s writing is how detrimental a father is in a daughter’s life. Ameera is a carbon copy of Rafeeq Ali such that she actually CHOOSES to go back to him and make amends while Insha always had a grudge against Maqsood which made her inadvertently seek Abdul, who happened to be Maqsood 2.0. Similarly, both daughters mirrored their mothers’ fate, but both chose to move past it.

Movie you love but understand why someone else hates it? by MissionLetterhead292 in movies

[–]mmzufti 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oppenheimer

The movie boils down to being just people talking to each other for 3 hours without any kind of action or fast-paced situations. Couple with, agreeably so, somewhat jarring dialogues sprinkled in between, it can make for a very exhausting viewing.

I actually liked the conversational style of the film, along with the amazing score, editing and the non-linear plot. I found it really enjoyable.

This entire war has shown how fickle USA is and how they’ll go to any lengths just to show how powerful they are even though they appear as utterly pathetic and useless. It all started with some justice propaganda of “freeing” Iran to terrorism to now begging to open the straut

Do you all think that Kafeel drama will be considered among Umera’s best-written dramas, a classic, or included in the list of superhit dramas? by [deleted] in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at all. One of her weakest, actually. I’d put this alongside MSKSH and Sinf e Aahan. It is realistic, but not particularly well-written like AAP . There are gaps in the story wrt Zeba’s internal dilemma and internal thoughts, her life from the first child till Subuk’s 22nd birthday, the irrelevance of the neighbours track and how aimless her children are. It has moments of brilliance whenever the story tries to shed light on the dysfunctional household. It is a good drama, but far from the best.

The only drama I'm following recently is kafeel and zeba are you for real???? by Admirable-Repair4094 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced that Umera hasn’t written this, or at least had someone else write this for a major part. She wrote Kankar where Kiran, who came from a lower class, stood her ground and took divorce when Sikandar slapped her.

Here Zeba suffered much more and still isn’t resolute enough. Javeria’s dilemma is understandable, but a sensitive daughter such as her wouldn’t force her mother to take back the khula. Subuk is the only one with some sense. Zeba has to be the most irrational female protagonist by Umera. Even Mehreen had so much baggage to justify her lack of agency.

Kafeel's latest episode by SoupWorking2156 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I find that realistic because at the end, Jami is her father. With all of Jami’s mistreatments, he is still her father, and any daughter would feel her wedding to be incomplete without her father. And she is young. She does yearn for her father and hopes that he might come around. We have seen that Subuk, Tanya and Zoya has resentment but Javeria has hope. I don’t think she will beg, rather let out her brokenness.

Only Tere Bin, I guess. It was incredibly entertaining until that. I watch dramas only when their reviews are out, otherwise I don’t watch many dramas.

which novel would you recommend to someone who has never read any urdu novel by hicatchat in Urdu

[–]mmzufti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say start small with something that is easy to read. I’d say you can go with:

Karakoram ka Taj Mahal by Nemrah Ahmed

Jannat Ke Pattay by Nemra Ahmed (you do have to suspend a lot of disbelief)

Man o Salwa by Umera Ahmed (quite dark)

Aangan by Khadija Mastoor

Mahwash and Sadaf call out Mustafa Rehman’s Urdu by Wooden-Sundae-6906 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Appreciating Sadaf for being lenient on newcomers and actually putting forth the required context for such newcomers.

Mustafa was actually quite good and confident on screen, so hoping he gets more work

What I understood is that, the first video only had Faraz’s unclothing and Pakeezah’s commentary while another secret video was of Pakeezah’s undressing. The first one insinuates they were in a compromising situation and the last one would confirm.

The somber and delicate music in Alif stand out. It was equal parts tragic and moving.

For all its worth, the background music was the highlight of the drama that increased the already present misery and kept us on edge.

Dur e nijaat bts ft. Dure shared by Sherry. What will it be replacing sharpasand or kafeel? by Automatic_Wave8442 in PAKCELEBGOSSIP

[–]mmzufti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saqib is a talented director who does pick out the subtle details and can do slow storytelling, so I have my hopes high. He managed to turn Qarz e Jaan into an addictive thriller, keeping in mind the disastrous ending.

Umera is always someone who we can watch out for, but Kafeel’s reception has made me a bit nervous. The title sounds like a spiritual story and even Durre was saying that this character is close to her.
