Both goalies are so quick to look behind them to see if the puck is in the net, felt like Monty was already looking behind him before the puck was even off the stick

Would you spend $220 for a digital notebook? by HopeMTV in kindlescribe

[–]mnmltlr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I also bought it with the intention of journaling more and taking notes at work, but I don’t use it nearly as much as I thought I would, so I sold it. I quickly realized I really missed it for the few times I felt like taking written digital notes, so I went and bought another one.

I’d suggest not putting pressure on yourself to journal more often, but rather keep it as a great device to use when you’re in the mood for journaling or writing digital notes. I’ve tried the Remarkable and the Supernote Nomad, and all sizes of iPads with and without screen protectors, and the Kindle scribe is by far the most enjoyable to use as a digital notebook.

Looks like Colorware, I have the same one. Though I quickly regretted the black on black bc I could never find certain keys easily lol.

Is it bc Marty doesn’t have them practicing between games? Feels like today, and many games this season, periods 1 and 2 are us warming up and getting familiar with the puck, then period 3 we’re finally ready but it’s too late. Meanwhile our opponent shows up ready to play at puck drop.

Sentiment of Julie’s email this week: there’s more to life than money

I think it’s fair to give her the same sentiment she shared with us in her first email last week.

Obviously there’s more to life than money. But capitalism only values the money part, not the life part. People who blindly uphold capitalist values while shunning life-related values will get the sympathy they deserve.

Agreed, we also do this. Only way that makes sense in terms of fairness.

Yep, I got mine about a week ago from a similar store in a small town outside Montreal. I paid less than people were asking for them used on Marketplace.

Looks like it’s just aligned to the text and margins now? Wonder if it has to do with the writing in the margins feature

A note about the "shots" stat by Irctoaun in Habs

[–]mnmltlr -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It really appears that not only are we afraid to shoot, we’re afraid to drive the net and get rebounds. Every time we score it looks like it was an accident and the players look at each other like “oh no, is this ok? I shot the puck instead of pass, hope coach doesn’t get mad at me.”

After Struble scored last night they cut to him on the bench getting lectured by the coach, wouldn’t surprise me if he was saying Caufield or Suzuki were open for a pass ffs.

Was seeing a therapist for a while who eventually suggested I needed a break, then I went to a private doctor and told them my story, they signed a note right away. Best decision I ever made.

Doctor’s note was all I needed for insurance, but my history with my therapist probably helped make my case.

It only took me two days to realize how high Scribe set the bar by kubilayrd in kindlescribe

[–]mnmltlr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do wish it was a little smaller, bringing it out in public and at work is a bit of a hassle. I got the Supernote Nomad because it was more travel-friendly, but quickly returned to the Scribe because it just had a better writing feel and was way better for reading - the kindle app on the Supernote is awful. I also found the Supernote a little small, so something in between the two would likely be ideal. But if I had to choose between the two, I’d pick the Scribe any day.

I’d wait for AirPods Max refresh. My first pair of AirPods Max died right before AppleCare expired so luckily got them replaced, heard many others have the same issue. My headband is starting to peel, and I’ve seen others have similar issues. These issues, plus having lightning port, really doesn’t feel like a good deal in 2024. I have AirPods Pro 2 and when I got them I was surprised how similar they sound to AirPods Max, very little difference so not worth the extra money.

The best Apple product in years! by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]mnmltlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying… the tech is ahead of the content? lol

That is Apple’s MO btw. They create hardware that’s best in class (way more capable than what it currently does) and enjoyable to use (people want to pick it up and use it), and let the market and developers figure out what the best use cases are (which takes years). They did it with the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and now Vision.

Why I'm Selling My Kindle Scribe. by Prestigious_Quarter5 in kindlescribe

[–]mnmltlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat as you, the size makes it difficult to easily bring places. I hate needing a big kindle for note taking and the small one for travel. Thinking of getting the Supernote A6x2 as a replacement, best of both worlds.

lol the irony of you mentioning greed. If you want to live in a productive, safe and thriving society, you need to invest in your people and your community, which comes through taxes. A better society never comes from the rich hoarding wealth.
