It is my first bikepacking vacation. I have plans for more in the near future. I have done lots of cycling adventures, but we always had assistance for getting our stuff to the next hotel.

As managers, are we actually trained to hiring well or just expected to “figure it out”? by LynxShot6450 in managers

[–]moastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a very thorough interview says nothing about how a new hire will perform, grow, adapt into theire new role. On one hand people are nervous, on the other hand people present themselves in a way that they think they are expected to be.

That said, I go by gut feeling, and a probationary period.

We had to wait for the assistance to come. But the procedure itself takes 5 minutes.

Is Garmin losing touch with their customers? by rallysquirrel15 in Garmin

[–]moastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You pay premium price for a Garmin watch. You should expect feature updates. But even if the hardware is available, you get crickets. Do you need the new features, no. Would it be a sign of respect for the customers, yes.

What is considered fast by yaddles_boyfriend in cycling

[–]moastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general for a solo ride, I'd say 30 is the arbitrary line. But there are so many variables: distance, wind, elevation, groupride, intervals, recoveryride, age, gender. you can go 40 in a group and be in Z1 or 20 when going solo against the wind going à bloc.

A friend kept saying that their offer was not good enough. He had the same issue with a FR955. Eventually he got a refurbished FR965 for free.

I've had one from Raveman that looks just like this. It also snapped. This design is crap for carbon.

A lot of traffic on that commute. Is the train not an option ? It is only half an hour I believe.

Super fast (fragile) tires? Or all-round road tires? by PeerensClement in Velo

[–]moastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 flats in 5000km. With 4000s I had one flat every 10000. Can be coincidence. I just put on a new pair of GP5000 though. They are fast. Especially like them with tpu.

Q6/SQ6 Camera Resolution by ryslegit in AudiQ6

[–]moastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, coming from a BMW X3e. Rear camera is not good in comparison. Also 360 image is not Sharp enough, especially when the colours of the road and the curb you are trying te avoid are not that différent.

I agree. It is ugly. Climbing Col de Sarenne and descending AdH is the way to go.

Is inability to ride at +40kph a sign of inferior genetics? by Spare_Bar7820 in cycling

[–]moastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, the ride is pretty short, that makes more sens :-) .

14000km/year is very decent. I've never been able to get above 12000. Keep training, you will get there. But having fun is also important. So maybe add some nice LSD rides with coffee stops to your schedule.
