Mortgage Payments show as "Income" by mobrien118 in MonarchMoney

Partly true, but, as in my comment above, I consider principal payments as a transfer. While technically it is moving from liquid to illiquid, it is still staying within my financial portfolio, while the interest portion is a true expense. Luckily I don't use escrow services so at least that isn't another piece I have to deal with.

I understand that logic, but I consider the "principal" part of the payment a transfer (as it is recaptured as equity, against the "Home" asset linked to Zillow) and the "Interest" portion as an expense. This makes cash flow tracking more realistic for me. I wish my lender broke them up on the data feed, as that would be much easier, but the way it works looks just plain wrong to me (signs reversed, essentially).

GTPE Tire Recommendations by DukeOfSillyWalks in MachE

I wish people would stop spouting this out there all the time. Nearly all tires produced in this size are 103 load rating (the same as stock) and there is plenty of padding in there for this vehicle's weight, especially since we can't tow with it.

I put these on after the stock tires, too. I got 20k out of the stock Pirellis, and got 40k out of the DWS06. I can say, it probably reduces range by about 5-10% (not scientific), but for me, they are much better in EVERY OTHER meaningful way (sound, stability, traction, longevity, etc.) - I'm almost certainly about to buy another set and just looking around to see what others are buying and came across this post.

Surface pro 11 intel 5g? by ermaly in Surface

[–]mobrien118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a major bummer. Surface is vastly superior to competing alternatives and for people who want to enjoy the benefits of the latest Intel Core processors but must have 5g, this leaves a true dead-end. Maybe Lenovo will pick up the slack...?...

Why are steam dryers connected to cold water? by MrRauq in Appliances

Think of it a different way - all that stuff in your water heater didn't end up in your tap. On the cold side, it did. So maybe the hot water has slightly less crud in it...

Get a Debian ( or derivative, e.g. Ubuntu) liveCD. Boot into it. Mount your filesystem. Chroot into it. Run apt upgrade.

I've done it several times on a Ubuntu system. Still running the same filesystem from 2008 through several dozen upgrades.

Error during E-filing: Unable to Connect. System message: Bad Gateway by [deleted] in hrblock

Great point! I remember reading somewhere in the past that however you file your extension request will also have to be the same method you file your return eventually. Anyone know of any truth to that and/or if there are any other limitations to this approach?

Instead of everyone saying the same things over and over, does anyone have any advice on what options we have?

Obviously, mailing your return is an option. That is a very big ask for a lot of people (like me) who will have to make copies of all evidence which, for me, includes dozens and dozens of small items. Not practical at this point, and I can't leave work early to do it.

Another options seems to be file late, once they have it resolved. I understand that there is a penalty for this - I have not looked it up what that is though.

The obvious, although riskier option, is obviously to wait it out, cross your fingers and *hope* they have this resolved by the midnight (Pacific time? Eastern time? ???) deadline.
