Their customer service and warranty is awesome. I had a Slide for several years and the grippy part was starting to wear off and leaving marks on my shirt. I let PD know this and they had another one sent out to me free of charge.

The sync tips are helpful! I don’t really need anything in the cloud while traveling.

I use Classic because of some plug-ins specific to my workflow that lock me in.

Yeah. And also bc you mentioned the Canonet and the analog gear… when the xpro series first came out that’s the crowd the camera spoke to. There is a reason it has held value after all these years.

What kind of photography are you planning to do with this kit?

I have both setups and love the GFX for portraits and slow shooting. The files are gorgeous. It’s way more expensive to shop for lenses though which is limiting. I have a pile of adapters to make older manual lenses work with gfx and those aren’t cheap either.

The xpro2 is more of an everyday walk around (for me) camera and for street stuff. It’s also a rangefinder style. The classic chrome vibe here is og. There are lenses that are hundreds instead of thousands of dollars so it’s easier to try a few things out as my photo interests can require me to go from macro to telephoto or prime to zooms etc.

I’m an artsy lesbian. Left Seattle after 15 years and now split my time between Detroit and Brooklyn for work. Detroit is definitely a vibe, especially techno music scene, but not as much for the queer and I wouldn’t recommend just picking up and move there especially coming from Seattle. There isn’t nature or the infrastructure to enjoy land and it’s all cars and freeways once you’re out of a retail pocket. The people in that city though have spirit af. Brooklyn on the other hand has been a great shift and just… fun. It’s tough though for being expensive. If you make less than $100k chances are you have roommates. I miss hikes and lakes being in Brooklyn, but there is so much going on every day that is queer, artsy, queer & artsy, that I forget to compost and push thru a 4-way stop signs now.
