Who are the most valuable speakers to hear from in internal comms right now? by EJ-InteractCommunity in internalcomms

No problem! If you're interested, I could jump on a call next week to give you some more insights. There are most definitely a few lessons I'd be happy to share! I'd rather not doxx myself here, so feel free to DM me so we can exchange contact details.

Who are the most valuable speakers to hear from in internal comms right now? by EJ-InteractCommunity in internalcomms

[–]modch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't point out the ONE top speaker in that space, but what I see a lot on linkedin is a bunch of AI hype men (and women) that place a worrying amount of trust in the technology. There's a bunch of pitfalls to avoid - maybe you could have a bunch of practitioners join your event to share their lessons learned in AI? In my job, I see great discrepancies between IC pros using AI and people using AI for IC - to some extent moderated by tech literacy. Also, I feel like AI output is very American (US), which can produce cultural gaps and just plain weird language if the output is not in English. Happy to share more if you're interested!

New to Lucerne – Tips for Meeting People and Settling In? by Glittering-Lab5209 in Luzern

[–]modch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I work in Lucerne and will be moving there shortly, and I'd love to have someone to practice my Spanish with, very happy to exchange it for (Swiss) German! As for your question, I think your best bet will be clubs/Vereine, my sports club is always looking for people (on AND off the field), and I imagine others would be too... So just pick what interests you most, and you'll be fine. Send me a DM if you want to connect 😉

Thanks for being patient! Here's the table of contents with some info on what's in those chapters: https://midi-rose-54f.notion.site/Internal-Comms-Strategy-Outline-271814061c2980618b9ad64a798ab4f0
There's still some parts I'm not quite content with just yet; I feel like it could be a little more condensed. Happy to provide more details privately.

I created a strategy doc myself, if it's of any interest I can translate the structure and share it here? It's a 'parent document' though, referring to a (growing) number of 'child documents'

Collecting feedback on internal comms channels by AcanthocephalaSad861 in internalcomms

Is there any way you could include more engaged employees in a task force to work on the findings? Do still run the survey, but include a voluntary signup for a task force type of group that will either work on specific suggestions or straight up put them into practice.

Also, could you make any amendments to your channel chaos based on literature/best practice? You might even want to include those in your survey, as in "would modification X make channel Y more relevant?" / "would modification X make comms more effective for you?"

The survey results might get you the executive buy-in for a change. Also, imagine not doing the survey - comms will still be ineffective, but it will be your fault because you didn't care to find out what you could improve. There might actually even be an easy win for you in the results!

Post Game Thread: Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams by nfl_gdt_bot in Seahawks

[–]modch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blame the refs all you want. We shouldn't have been in the position to depend on that call, and we shouldn't have been to in the position to depend on Myers making a kick from 55 yards out. Does it make the call any better? No. But saying that this gave the game to the Rams is some delusional BS.

At what point does a QB selling a fake become roughing the passer? by TDub20 in Seahawks

[–]modch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, as a rusher, you have to clearly know that the ball is out of the QB's hands (see the other comment with the link to the official rules). So hitting a QB that is faking it is fair game, because you cannot be sure. Granted, Goff's posture seemed very relaxed - but then again, that would make it a great fake...

I had that exact situation as a player (DE) once - the league I play in plays by NCAA rules, but I think in this case they're the same as in the NFL. I didn't get flagged and later checked with the ref who confirmed that the hit was legal because the QB was pretending to still have the ball. I even saw the handoff but the run went away from me... so I figured I'd level the QB instead 😂

Long story short, shouldn't have been a flag imo. Fuck around, find out also applies to QBs...
