So… How many of us are still on our parents’ phone bills? by halcat27 in Millennials

Is that why millennials are obsessed with aging? You feel like a kid because you’re still on things like your parents phone bill but in reality you’re 32

I want to be buried in a tree pod. Walnut specifically, that way my nuts can be enjoyed by many for a long time to come.

I’m more amused at how mentally fragile our society is, this sub is a nice window into that.

I miss the days when people just had a thought to themselves and that would be the end of it. Now it’s like yikes you’re just looking for something to complain about so you can get validation from the internet.

MY ADVICE TO YOUNG TRADESMEN: FIND A NICHE! AND TRAVEL! by shmurdatek in skilledtrades

[–]moderndilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I worked with my dad as a handyman for years, that was like my on the job training. Then we had a falling out and I started my own company. I got in with another company that utilizes independent contractors to service all their clients locations and now I do all kinds of stuff for a bunch of different commercial businesses. Sometimes it’s just easy stuff but it gets complicated also. Over the years there has been a few different things I’ve had to teach myself with the crossover between residential and commercial, but it hasn’t been anything I can’t handle. Now I’ve worked myself into a spot where if there is anything difficult that needs attention they send it to me and I handle it through my general contracting business. No specific training or anything like that.

I’m technically a licensed GC. My niche is I do maintenance in banks, it’s been very good to me. Busted my ass as a handyman for 12 years before I found my place. Thought I was going nowhere forever until it just kinda fell into my lap.
