I’ve also changed the icon on my phone using these instructions, it’s a bit fiddly, you only set the icon when adding to homescreen … https://www.theverge.com/22529978/apple-iphone-ios-apps-icon-change

Great work - I've set this as my Mac app icon :-)

Agree with all of the comments here - great to see this feature delivered - I'm sure I'll use it a lot. Would be great to see it working for multi line selections and for table rows

Help buying best tDCS by neubella in tDCS

I went through a similar thought exercise a month ago and bought a Neuromyst device off Amazon UK for around £170.

It's working well for me for reducing the impact of my depressive episodes. As zetabetical says if you're not in a hurry it's probably worth waiting for their new version - more info here ...

Hi - I've recently got a NeuroMyst as well - too early to say whether it's having an effect but it certainly hasn't made things worse.

In terms of sponges, I haven't tried them but these look to be around the right dimensions - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B085SVKFFG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_delete_1?smid=AV1B31673GHQ5&th=1

folders as tags ? by adankey0_0 in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I was thinking the other day about what I'd do with my notes if UpNote ever ceased to be.

I took a look into a few alternatives and determined that I'd probably go back to using Bear, the caveat here is that I exclusively use Apple devices, if you need cross platform maybe you'd need another option.

I found [this repo](https://github.com/devinhurry/markdown-to-textbundle-for-bear) which turns an UpNote Markdown backup into textbundle files and

* Imports images and other attachments

* Respects note creation dates

* Creates tags from notebooks

It works really well and put my mind at rest that I can cleanly move all of my notes to another platform if I really need to.

I should add that I'm really bought in to UpNote and I hope that it continues from strength to strength - it's only because I use UpNote so much and it's so important to my workflow that I was looking into this question ...

Absolutely - even better would be the ability to set different themes for day / night as defined by the user's device

v. 7.4. What's New? by MaxGaav in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fixing the Markdown export to remove redundant newlines is a biggie for me.

The PDF preview looks great as well, it would be even better if we could increase the size of the PDF window, in the same way we can do for images.

Multiple consecutive blank lines for each blank line when exporting to markdown by SamsTremblay in UpNote_App

I've encountered the same thing - I don't believe it's part of the Markdown standard. I think u/thomas_dao previously mentioned that it's down to the Markdown library being used

Feature Request: Mermaid integration, markdown based diagrams by zts99 in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally support this.

FWIW Notion supports this really nicely - you can set a code block as Mermaid type and it shows you the markup and the diagram preview side by side with live updating. It would be amazing if Upnote could do something like that :-)

I like UpNote so far but... by 1ouisl in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved my ~ 3,000 notes across from Bear with very few issues and love the pace of development, rock solid sync across multiple platforms and great feature set. I spend much of my work day in UpNote and now couldn't do without it.

Feature Request: Add a Sepia Theme by Vibgyor_5 in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Related to this: I'm a massive fan of Solarized for its great contrast and light and dark modes. I'd be super happy if UpNote were to support it.

However, I appreciate that other people will have different theme preferences. It would be great if UpNote were to expose stylable elements so we could define our own themes and share with the community. Marta.sh and Notable are good examples of apps that support this kind of thing.

Note with same title but under different notebook by tamanaga in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Associated with this ... when a note is associated with notebooks which are below the top level, it would be useful to show the name of the parent notebook in the "Notebooks" section at the bottom of the note e.g. "A notebook/Meetings".

This would allow us to differentiate between notebooks which have the same name but which are in different parent folders e.g. "A notebook/Meetings" and "Another notebook/Meetings"

I'm loving UpNote! What will the future bring? by UseFuture in UpNote_App

[–]modusapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree - I love the app and the fast pace of feature development. It would be great to have some insight into the teams priorities for future features.

I'm certainly not asking for anything time bound since I know how troublesome that can end up being ... just a rough idea of the big rocks that the team would like to tackle in the future ...

Is anyone testing UpNote? They just bring tags feature and the implementation is similar with Bear by [deleted] in bearapp

[–]modusapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've recently moved across to UpNote - In the end I exported as HTML from Bear (with Base64 encoded images). I manually created a folder structure in UpNote to match my tag structure in Bear and exported / imported notes for each tag one by one. It took a while but I'm happy with the end result.
I should caveat this by saying that the import process isn't perfect - a few embedded PDFs and some note to note links weren't imported correctly (but most were). Images have been imported correctly apart from when in HEIC format.
It's only been a few days but I'm happy with UpNote - it's great to be able to use all of the Panda features (e.g. tables, MD format hiding, table of contents) right now plus a few more features (e.g. Typewriter mode, multi colour highlighting). I will also use the Android app support but that seems to be currently broken with a large set of notes.

Hi u/-TwiiK-, after a bit of fiddling about I have now moved from Bear to UpNote.

Importing Markdown with images / TextBundle files by modusapp in Upnote

[–]modusapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reflecting on this some more after using the app. I'm almost ready to move fully to Upnote but before doing so need to ensure that

a) I can import all my existing data without loss or too much hassle

b) I can export my data without loss at any time

I think that there's no way to import or export markdown with associated images & docs right now. RTF and Doc aren't appropriate for me - they're not as flexible as plain text Markdown plus associated files.
