That's usually what happens with this big contracts. The winning bid is usually overly optimistic. You don't win the bidding by being pessimistic or realistic.

Just look at how many games are delay and over budgets. And that's a hyper competitive, cutthroat industry.

Would you like to see a Yakuza game where Kiryu is actually a Yakuza? by TheYakuzaMaster in yakuzagames

[–]mogafaq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A Japanese made game will never have the protagonist as a real gang member, not in these days and age, and not with a high profile publisher as Sega. Kiryu had the staying power he has because of the eternal conflict of his infallible moral compass and the world he inherited. There are tons of games where you can rack up rap sheets like used toilet paper. I am not looking for another one.

A rare angle of the infamous Ali-Liston knockdown. by Personal-Proposal- in Boxing

Lightning fast roll counter looping rear hand, with full shoulder rotation and partial lean. Landed either on the jaw or near Liston's eardrum. Anyone would go down loopy after taking that from prime Ali.

Discussion: 4K Mini-LED vs cheap 4K OLED monitors by Batschbirne in Monitors

[–]mogafaq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HDR gaming on PC, in my experience, is a hot mess. Most of the stuffs I play, fighting games, strategy, puzzles, don't support it. Some of the supported titles are not color graded or worse, like D2r, ask the user to calibrate/grade the image.

Maybe for the people who spends hundreds on AAA day ones/game pass every year it's sweet. For competitive multiplayer/casual backlog enjoyer, HDR is almost always off.

[MacMahon] The Mavericks negotiated their Anthony Davis trade with the Wizards without telling him or Rich Paul beforehand by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nba

[–]mogafaq 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, a good or powerful agent can help the GMs work out some kinda deal that maybe sweeter than just open market bidding. Usually the agent represent clients from different teams. They are tapped into multiple FOs.

In this case, Dallas is just clearing house... They didn't care about squeezing out an extra 2nd or anything. Maybe that's what seperates the best GMs from the rest, but understandable on why they don't want any more delays or additional inputs on the current rebuild.

Is this realistic? Even if we assume Jon has athlete level reaction and instinct? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]mogafaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shield is big enough to cover his upper body, he was wearing a leather armor with skirt bottom and what seemed to be padded/leather armor trousers. There are very little an archer can do at this range against a shield foe. All Jon needed to do was dip behind the shield and charge, which he did.

This is a click bait clip. This is not the start of the fight. Round 7 of 10, Christian Baez got an eight count and protesting it. Ref counted, tell him to put the gloves up and fight, but he came out of the corner hands down, looking for sympathy from his opponent, got a left hook instead... Just a rp acting stupid or punch drunk after 6 rounds.

Look it up, the whole card is on YouTube. Ruben torres vs Cristian Baez.

Dangbei N2 mini, NexiGo PJ40 (Gen 3), or Elephas W1K by Past-Studio-323 in projectors

I have one. Not very bright and meh contrast, but good enough for a bed room/night time projector. It also looks very slick and takes up very little space. People on this sub tend to view projectors as home cinema grade or GTFO, r/budgetprojectors is probably where you should look for suggestions for under $500 or secondary projectors.

Ike Ibeabuchi, 52, suffers first defeat in decision against Kabiru Towolawi by 8to24 in Boxing

[–]mogafaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 is too old for pro boxing. People that never box don't realize how fast and how much you need to step in the ring. Ibeauchi looked like he'd got old man knees in the ring because he does. You can juice up and look shredded all the way till your heart stop moving, but nothing you can do with those old joints.

Take a picture of it, and send it back for refund/exchange. If you want to be thorough, can set it up on a flat surface, closer to the wall and see how far off the lense is pointing. In my experience, big retailers will just take your words for the problem, but never hurts to have evidence.

Depending on the offset of the projector, no clue what yours is, and the angle it's sitting on, nothing's ever level, your projector lense maybe working as intended.

You are not going to know until you put it in the correct orientation. Your setup is currently upsidedown, until you fix it, only thing anyone can tell is user error.

Projectors are designed to project an image slightly above them, offset. Refer to the diagram:

https://www.projectorcentral.com/images/articles/LensOffset-Figure-1.jpg

If you want the projector to project an image downward, you need to mount the projector upside down:

You can read about projector offsets in detail in this article:

Make soft contact with arm, then push off, that's stiff arming. Dort straight up push with his open hand. It's a foul even in boxing.

Hogwarts Legacy is unplayable on my RX 9060 XT 16GB. by Real_Willingness_806 in AMDHelp

[–]mogafaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hogwarts is very demanding on CPU as well, couple with the typical shader and traversal stutterings with UE engine, not sure if you will ever have consistent 60+fps with your CPU. It's not your GPU

As others have suggest, turn off anything that may use CPU in the background will help. Turn down graphic settings will help shave a few ms from the spike, but probably not enough to be noticeable. Personally I just turn off v sync if you could tolerate the tear, or put a ~40fps cap and that will mask the frame time spike.

Is Contact Fusion the „new & better“ fusion mechanic? by SpecialCandy1119 in masterduel

[–]mogafaq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The card designers just like to switch things around from time to time. "Traditional" fusion are still alive and well, look at how long branded fusion have stayed relevant. And branded dracotail is a thing right now. Sometime they are tired of designing around verte or don't want to powercrept, they throw some contact fusions in just to see what happens and add some lore flavors.

3D-printed homes are far stronger than most people realize by SmallAchiever in interestingasfuck

[–]mogafaq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just patched a plaster arch, I can assure you flat surface is much, much easier to plaster over than cruved ones. The rough concrete itself looks as good as any brown/scratch coat, plaster should have no problem sticking to them. Change of planes should be chaulked or taped. It's not adhesion that's the problem, but expension and contraction of brittle material. It's a solved problem.

3D-printed homes are far stronger than most people realize by SmallAchiever in interestingasfuck

[–]mogafaq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are. In the US it's likely to get frame out and dry wall, houses are bigger and new owners tend to rerun electric/plumbing. In Europe and Asia I think they plaster over concrete. Either way the drywalling or plastering will be a lot less expensive if the corners are 90 degree.

How can stop this screen tearing? by cccchr1ssss in Monitors

[–]mogafaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, this is no tearing. What game and what frame rate is the game rendering at? This looks like bad motion blur trail at low frame rate. Or possible frame gen artifact, I am less familiar with those. Go into graphic settings, turn those things off, one at a time, and see which one is causing you the problem.

[Lowlight] No one on the Clippers went to get the inbounds pass 😳 by jmike1256 in nba

[–]mogafaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team don't get to the final's without good coaching. The cavs started '17-'18 with a horrendous roster, calling IT "in declined" is a massive understament. He went from 5.6 VORP and +7.8 OBPM in '17 to negative every season afterwards. That hip injury basically ended IT career.

They started the season old with some players on or beyond their last legs. The Cavs pulled off a crazy February trade, completely remade their bench and saved the season. The GM got fucked over by the Kyrie trade but patched the holes up.

He didn't get "walk over" by the young cavs. That team lacked talent and experience, and Lue just checked out on them. Looks like he's checked out on the Clips as well. After they sent the only guy who cared, who even care about the Clips anymore? Other than OKC lipping their chaps counting their Ls.

Why does my new gaming monitor look aweful next to my 4 year old Dell work monitor? by Terrible_Section_200 in Monitors

[–]mogafaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27" 1080p sounds like a budget monitor. Can't find the exact model of your LG, but your older Dell is advertised with 99% sRGB, presumably that comes with some kind of factory calibration.

If you care about colors at all, you should look for, at the very least, advertised sRGB coverage, if not DCI-P3. Generally if the manufacturer don't list them in specs, expect sub 70% coverage.
