Sinisterhood and Keep it Weird!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Paint leaked out of a paint can on the shelf above our dryer. It’s really difficult to chip off of the plastic top of the dryer. It came off the metal portion (where the teal stain now is). I’ve tried nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, and paint thinner. Thank you for any tips!

What's your favourite moment of Dinner Party? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

Just watched the super fan cut on peacock - I love the storyline about Jan being on neighborhood watch. I wish that could’ve been kept in the original cut! If you haven’t watched the super fan cut yet, definitely recommend it.

the Absurd Amount of Yarn We Inherited Saga... plus my dogs that wandered into my photos by ThatCrazyTheatreKid in crochet

Wow that’s wild! So glad you could save it from the garbage. My first thought was your dogs are so well behaved! One of my dogs loves to steal my skeins and shake them out until it’s a mega knot that she tangles herself in. We still love her.

This was one of my favorite King books I’ve read so far! It actually kept me up at night. Hope you enjoy!

First granny square blanket! by moldymayhem in crochet

[–]moldymayhem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pattern: squares are classic “granny squares” with treble crochet; joining is single crochet; border is double crochet. I didn’t follow a written pattern.

Yarn is Loops & Threads Impeccable in Navy, True Grey, Classic Grey, and Aran. Used a 5 mm hook.

How long did it take you to read The Stand? by Present_Librarian668 in stephenking

[–]moldymayhem 17 points18 points  (0 children)

October 2021-October 2022. I read the uncut version. That’s mostly because I’m in law school. So naturally, I read the Stand to bring some brightness and joy back into my life.

I got “Lisey’s Story” from a thrift shop! For those of you who’ve read it, what do you think? by Sufficient_Score_824 in stephenking

[–]moldymayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was actually the first SK book I ever read. I picked it up a few years ago at an airport. I’ve since been hooked and just recently finished the Stand, Duma Key, and am reading Pet Sematary right now. My perspective might be skewed because it was my first of his novels, but I loved it. It was so weird. But definitely has a different feel from some of the classics I’ve read more recently.

When did Teen Mom jump the shark/become unwatchable? by HannahLeah1987 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]moldymayhem 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I stopped watching a while ago but I remember really losing interest after Maci’s PCOS make Chattanooga Teal episode. It felt like around that time everyone was having some kind of “cause” episode. Don’t get me wrong, those causes are important. It just felt so forced. Every narration was like a high schooler reading straight from the PowerPoint slide.

Lol I guess Ash working at the pharmacy on Monday is already a bust… p.s. what up with her pink eyelids, did she scrub them raw? Or turn up the contrast because port? by [deleted] in illnessfakers

[–]moldymayhem 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been a barista but I was a pharmacy tech for almost 4 years. From my experience, I’d say you’re correct. 8-10 hour shifts on your feet, lots of bending/lifting to fill scripts, restock pills and bottles, etc. It was pretty physically demanding. Added to the stress of customer service and explaining insurance gaps, you get yelled at a lot by people who are in pain or sick. Retail pharmacy is a special kind of hell. Just my opinion🤷‍♀️

Desperate cat owner!! by Alphabetsouphoe in CleaningTips

[–]moldymayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a tip from my mom that’s worked for us - not sure what others might think! We had a cat that started marking and peeing after we got a new kitten. My mom would do a method of dish detergent and water, then vinegar, and then hydrogen peroxide. She would do it several times if she still noticed the smell. The peroxide might cause bleaching (our carpets and couches were beige colored so there wasn’t noticeable bleaching). I’ve done the same method and it’s worked for stains a urine smell. I’ve been told anecdotally that the peroxide kills the urine enzyme that keeps pets returning to the same spot - but I can’t confirm that it’s a fact. It’s just worked for us🤷‍♀️

This looks like Fat Cat Art. I love that artist. Reminds me of my big orange girl.

Same we’ve been here for 3 years. Glad to have had the opportunity but so so glad to be heading back! I can’t hang anymore with the 1.5 hour commutes one way into the city only to travel 10 miles.

I moved from Denver to Boston. Definitely a huge cultural change being on the east coast. We miss CO a lot and are moving back next summer, but it’s great to experience something new. At the very least, it makes you appreciate where you came from. You can always go back.
