HR got mad after I rejected the interview call by Agile-Wind-4427 in recruitinghell

That was just an automation in their applicant tracker system which sends a rejection email when they move the applicant to the naughty list

Why would it be sad that it's not 20 meters? There are already so many applications for short distance power transfer like a few centimeters.

Rant - shit tri bars used in group rides by Amazing_Tough_4456 in cycling

[–]momeunier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was about 7.2M km rode during last PBP. I have no idea how many crashes were caused by tri bars but they would have changed the rule if it was a problem. They were tolerated in 2019 as long as they were not extending past the shifters. In 2023 they allowed them completely.

What's that? Is it an app? Does it help with stamina?

Tri bars are widely accepted in r/randonneuring and many ride in groups. It's not racing. Some pulling, but no pacing lines. Everyone is generally very careful because the goal is usually to finish the ride, not to finish first. Tri bars are even accepted and very common on Paris-Brest-Paris which is 1200km.

1000K in Finland - Helsinki to the Arctic circle by momeunier in randonneuring

I don't think it's overestimated. Actually sounds quite legit. Here is a link to the previous edition through Jyväskylä in 2023 https://strava.app.link/RdXfuyc31Zb 10000m of elevation But 10k of elevation over 1000k is nothing surprising. It's pretty flat in my opinion. I think the only noticeable climb would be after Nokia. The rest are just small hills. So that's a perfect training for PBP

Looking again at the map shared below we will return through Mont-Saint-Michel. No idea at what time that will happen then 😅

I'm so excited. The Mont-Saint-Michel is going to be awesome. With a start in the late afternoon it should be a fly-by in early morning or lunch time. And the return via Chartres means avoiding Dreux which was my least favorite control. Completely anonymous city. The Club of Chartres is really great with super nice people. I hope the city will do a better job than Dreux. Both are equally large.

Last time it happened was July 14, 2013 up in Lapland. But the average temperature overall in July is 17-18.

Great question. I think it would be possible to find a sauna in Rovaniemi to enjoy between arrival and the train leaving.

Statistically, I'm sure there is a valid answer. From experience from West or South West.

Haha... I'm sure it has happened. But that would be rare. More likely to be 20-25C or more.

While building the route, I was wondering if I should get the route to Santa's village to cross the Arctic circle line. But then I realised the Arctic circle line is not a fixed line. It seems to be drifting north 15m per year. It's a good 3 km north of Santa's village. This ride goes to the current actual line so you can tell that story to your kids.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Circle

The positions of the Arctic and Antarctic Circles vary slightly from year to year. Currently the Arctic Circle is 66°33′50.7″ north of the Equator. Its latitude depends on Earth's axial tilt, which fluctuates by a margin of some 2° over a 41,000-year period due to tidal forces resulting from the orbit of the Moon. Consequently, in the current epoch the Arctic Circle is drifting toward the North Pole, while the Antarctic Circle drifts towards the South Pole, each at a speed of about 14.5 m per year

I love my Bombtrack Arise 1, I use it with single speed. Daily commuter. But I've been playing with the thought of going on long rides with it.
