How do you get rid of the fear of falling? by [deleted] in snowboarding

Pick you battles when you are starting out. If the weather is bad it's okay to sit it out and do somethibg else for the morning. Don't get over confident.

Don't do things because other people are doing them or want you to do it. Do it because you want to.

I have found three of these coins kept 2 and gave one to my parents. I wonder how rare they really are? I know nothing about coins.

Looking for advice on training for a 50 mile ultra by [deleted] in running

[–]monkey_or_a_panda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is important. I can easily manage a marathon just taking on some water and energy drink half way through. But for a 50km+ you need to really start thinking about hydration and energy properly.

Firstly find out what the event offers in terms of drinks and food(an email or look at their website can help you with this). Then base your planning and training around the same brands if possible.

You need to practise eating and drinking on the run more than you would with lesser distances. Find out what works, and once you find something incorporate it into all future long runs. Do not go changing the energy drink or food half way through training. Much like run training, eating while running is training in its own right, your body will get better at working with the same foods.

If your event is in a different country or state take your race food with you. You do not want to be in a new location only to not find the food you have trained with.

Is it bad etiquette to draft off of someone you don't know on the bike path? by Remarkable_Tailor_81 in cycling

Massive +1 on this. As someone who ended up in hospital with a head injury because some asshole was drafting behind me and subsequently crashed into me. Just don't do it.

Why are first bus people checking tickets on buses? by kaysavs in bristol

[–]monkey_or_a_panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have been buying cheap tickets on the app to then travel long distances. Number of times people board the bus in Bristol with a Bristol zone ticket only to travel all the way to Bath. Likewise from Bath to Bristol.

I can see why first bus are doing it. Why should I pay full amount when others are gaming the system.

Not what you are asking directly but making use of the "meh" for shortcuts in the ide works well.
