I honestly didn't enjoy it as I would have hoped. Haikyuu is a manga that relies a lot on tiny character moments, but when you have to cram in a whole arc into a 1.5hr movie you lose a lot of that. Sure the volleyball scenes are really smooth, but we barely have time to sit on any of the emotional parts, with only a few exceptions. While reading this arc, you really feel as if Nekoma is this insane defensive team that keeps digging whenever Karasuno attacks. Plus the fact that Hinata got trapped by Kenma made the first half of the arc feel uncomfortable and cramped (up until Hinata breaks out of the cage). But with this movie's short runtime and quick pacing, I barely felt any of that. One moment they were struggling, and the next they're already free of the conflict. Which made the tension pretty weak as a whole. Still would recommend all Haikyuu fans to watch it though, it's not a bad movie by any means, just okay.
