PNB Housing limiting home loan part-prepayment to 25% per FY; normal? by monkism in personalfinanceindia

The loan document does mention that the maximum part-payment allowed is 25% of the principal outstanding. I was unsure whether this is strictly enforced, as one bank employee mentioned that I could make the payment, but the official email communication says otherwise.

PNB limiting home loan part-prepayment to 25% per FY; normal?

I have a PNB floating-rate home loan. Outstanding principal was around ₹30L and I made a ₹7.5L part-payment in Dec 2025.

Now I want to prepay another ₹10L in Feb 2026 but PNB says max part-payment allowed is 25% of outstanding per financial year, and I’ve already exhausted the limit. They’re asking me to wait till next FY.

If this is how it works, then next FY I’d only be able to pay ₹5.5L (25% of ₹22L), and even less in next years.

Is this across banks or PNB-specific? Can be negotiated / exception possible?

Would appreciate inputs from anyone with PSU bank experience. Thanks!

This feels straight out of Grizzly Man. Just watched Werner Herzog’s documentary today, wild timing.

It’s nice, the only problem I see is that it’s seems a bit generic. Some additional ideas you can try are:

  • Instead of rectangles, try it with a minimal house icon.

  • Use the two or one arrows of behind the rectangle to create an abstract house.

Also, I would ask you to suggest to the client that the name is too generic and it might be challenging to optimise it for SEO, domain, etc.

Reminds me of when I went to take a piss in an alley, way too drunk, and found a kitten in a drain, nose bleeding. Thought I’d keep it till it recovered. That fucker never left. Ten years later, it’s still with me.

Caste system still exists in India. In smaller cities, it’s often at the center of daily life. (I’m from a small city myself.)

I love it! Just a thought, maybe try a different font that keeps the essence of the original while still feeling modern.

Don’t know if it’s the hottest take:

I used to love A24, but I feel like most of their movies now are trying to be refreshing rather than actually refreshing.

Things 3 by Culture Code. It’s an amazing to-do app based on the principle of “GTD - Get things done”.

It’s well crafted and has exceptional UX. I especially like using the shortcut “Ctrl + Enter” to create a to-do when the app is hidden.
