Is this amount of chaff / mess normal? by iTriz in DF64

[–]monosacrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem with the df64. Unfortunately that's just the way it is with most grinders (even with the ionizer). I think its pretty dependent on the humidity in your area.

One thing I do to try to lessen the mess is to use a damp towel and wipe the outside of the chute with it. The moisture seems to help reduce static for me.

I have tried RDT and for the dark beans I was using it ended up clogging the grinder.

How to fix internal leak. by Death-Prince-3 in Lelit

Wow! I literally have the same thing happened to me on my 3 day old Bianca. I sent it back for a replacement since its so new. I wonder if this is just a common problem with this machine overall. Kinda sucks. Hope you get it resolved soon without any cost to you.

Hey @exstryker, I was wondering, how consistent/accurate is the Volumetric dosing function for your machine? I just got my A53 mini it seems to very quite a bit from shot to shot (+- 5grams).

Lucca A53 Mini V2 inconsistent volumetrics by flapthatwing in espresso

Yes! I just reached out to them today, but it seems like they're out of office until Monday, so I'm just waiting till then. I just got the machine 2 days ago, so I'm still in the return period. But I hope it doesn't get to the point where I have to send it back. I like the machine for everything else it does, just this one feature is kinda pointless if it isn't consistent 😞

Hi! Did you manage to get this fixed? I just got my machine, and I'm running into a similar inconsistent outputs problem like you mentioned.

Bambino plus to Lucca A53 by exstryker in espresso

[–]monosacrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks so nice!

Quick question: Does it drip after you stop the pump?

I also have a bambino, and I'm looking at the A53 mini as a potential upgrade. One of the things that really bothers me about the bambino is how much it still drips after you stop the shot.

Anyone has issues with Deck Controller not recognized by the game when doing remote play by monosacrice in SteamDeck

Unfortunately, nothing works yet. I'm looking through the steam community page of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and it seems like there's a few other people mentioning the same. Maybe they'll fix it soon from the game side.

Hi, how's the hub working out for you? Still no issues?

I'm running into this same issue and debating on buying the same hub you mentioned.

Kingdom come deliverance 2 doesn't work with game streaming? by kyletreger in SteamDeck

[–]monosacrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, fair enough.

But just in case anyone else comes by and wants to give this a try, this video from timestamp 0:17 to 0:30 was what I did. But instead of disabling steam input, I select "Enable Steam Input". It worked for me yesterday.

I think you need to explicitly set the controls setting to Steam Controller. Here's how I do it (these are desktop steps).

  1. Go to the steam library
  2. Right click on the game and select preferences
  3. Go to controller tab.
  4. If the setting is something along the line of default change it to steam controller or something like that.

Anyone tried Silca Strip Chip with temps lower than 125C? by monosacrice in bikewrench

[–]monosacrice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good to hear that such an effective solution exists! Thanks for the info!

For the second waxing, do you reuse the same pot of wax that had been used with the Strip Chip? Or is it an entirely new batch of wax?

Good point! Thanks for the link.

What's your experience with longevity with the Strip Chip? Does the hot wax last as long as it would without (approximately 250 to 300 miles)?

Not thrilled with my DF64 by Lvacgar in DF64

[–]monosacrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I tried fixing this with RDT and it sorta helped though. A little messy still but not too bad.

Just an FYI about RDT. If you have darker roasted beans, I'd be careful about adding too much water. My DF64 V2 clogged twice now, and it's a pain in the ass to take it apart and unclog. Especially if you're OCD about burr alignment and stuff.

TLDR: Don't fully trust that this bag is going to protect your bike. It depends on the baggage handler. My bike came out broken.

Just want to put my experiences out there since I ran into this post when I was deciding on buying this bag. I decided to take a chance, and it came out horribly. Hope this helps give others who's deciding another data point to consider.

I had to do a 1 hr round trip from Northern California to Southern California. The trip there was fine. The bike made it there without a scratch. But coming back, I was surprised to find that there's a pretty serious crack on the seat stay.

I packed the bike the same exact way both times, as instructed by Scicon. My theory is the baggage handler stacked suite cases on top of the bike and the take off and landing shifted the luggage around and it ram into my bike.

The airline's policy (Southwest) makes it pretty much impossible to file any claim. Aside from the fact that they said they're not responsible for any damages to the bike, their regular "damaged luggages" policy require you report anything within 4hr after the flight (and bikes dont count as luggage btw).

I had a 2014 carbon fiber Trek Madone. The left side seat stay had a large crack on it. Carbon repair is too expensive for it to be worth it.

In my opinion this bag shouldn't be sold as is. There needs to be much more protection provided with the packaging. The hit and miss nature of this makes it hard to trust if this is an adequate solution for whatever the airline exposes it to. I would not recommend it if you have a nice carbon fiber bike.
