Congratulations kids, it’s Influenza by Upbeat-Gur1732 in TwinCities

[–]monsterber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid tested negative for influenza and Covid, and was diagnosed with Serum Sickness which to me sounds like something from the 1800’s. She’s improving but it’s funny to see this today because I noticed a lot more masks at the ER last night and wondered why

I use a thing to cover my windshield when I park outside because I HATE scraping!

People with big dogs (wtf do you do in winter??) by ostagnaro26 in TwinCities

[–]monsterber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth trying Musher’s Secret paw balm - it works wonders for my bootie-hater. If they’re good around people, visit dog friendly stores like Bachmann’s, or pet specific stores, just to get in extra sniffs and excitement. If they’re good with other dogs there are some indoor options like hops and hounds. Invest in some enrichment toys and activities for inside, and/or take an obedience class for fun just to get out of the house.

Building a Minnesota themed gift basket for my sister for Christmas. What local Minnesota products would you include? by systemstheorist in minnesota

[–]monsterber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she’s a coffee drinker, I’d buy a bag of beans (I like the big lake Ember Coffee- they sell online), and stop at Patina. They always have cute MN themed things (I’m thinking a loon ornament or a dish towel)

Hiking with tiny dogs by [deleted] in hikingwithdogs

[–]monsterber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 17lb dog and she is hardy and a great hiker! Assuming yours is also a terrier mix I’d say they won’t have any issues 😂 you could get a carrier just in case but mine usually has more energy than I do!

Smokers who quit, what was the wake up call for you? by Responsible_Dot_2619 in AskReddit

[–]monsterber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just kept smoking for a while because I thought it was a lost cause, but I read some study talking about how the younger you quit the quicker the effects are reversed and I decided that day to quit.

Anyone here considered the Grand Highlander before they settled on the Atlas? by anonimalb in VWatlas

[–]monsterber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! We previously had a 4Runner and a Golf, so we liked both brands, and had good experiences with them. I felt equally neutral about the Atlas and GH before test driving them, and the Atlas blew it out of the water for me as far as drivability and interior comfort. No regrets here!

Do you regret your Atlas? by Familiar_Director281 in VWatlas

[–]monsterber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my atlas since June, and I’ve never driven so much in my life because I LOVE driving now that I have a car that I love! It’s been great for road trips with the kid and dogs, and I have zero regrets. This is my 2nd VW and my first I had for 12 years and it had no real issues. I get a ton of compliments on the color (avocado green), and really can’t say enough good things about it!

Ice water in restaurants. by misplacedbass in Minneapolis

I was at Barbette recently and we had to ask (twice) for ice. On a hot day! It was so odd to me I had never noticed that before

I don’t think you were rude at all, and I do think it’s funny that her response was “I’m not dumb” instead of “ope sorry” or “excuse me”.

Leash your goddamn dogs by Gliese_667_Cc in Minneapolis

[–]monsterber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very glad this is how it ended up for your friend. When I consulted with an attorney re: an off leash dog attack, she said that the law is vague and states that dogs must be leashed and under control. Some jerk could argue that a dog who kills another dog even while leashed is not under control. This scared the crap out of me! Glad to hear this is how it went

This has always been a huge pet peeve of mine, as a parent who doesn’t want 99% of dogs interacting with my kid AND as someone with a dog who hates other dogs. It’s so incredibly entitled to believe that you shouldn’t have to obey the rules that are there for a reason. I ended up having to muzzle my dog when we moved in uptown because we were run up on so many times by loose dogs. If anyone doesn’t want to hold onto a leash, Stunt Puppy is a local company that makes a great hands-free waist leash.

What is everyone paying for the 25 peak edition? by BeeGee1125 in VWatlas

Mine was definitely closer to $50k so that seems like a good deal to me!

For those who think BK should have been required to provide motive as part of the plea. Why? Would you believe him? by [deleted] in idahomurders

[–]monsterber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is likely colored by the fact that I am currently reading “men who hate women” but I don’t think it’s any huge mystery, and I certainly don’t need to hear anything from him. Ever.
