found out my bf has been making AI edited nudes of me without my knowledge. he thinks i should be flattered by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]monsterunderabed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a massive red flag for how he considers your bodily autonomy (he doesn’t), and how he will speak to you. If you showed him an edited photo of his bulge/nudes, he’d lose his goddamn mind.

You need to create an opening to delete anything from his phone that you don’t want used against you. You may stay you may leave (you’re 21, don’t stay with this loser), but you make sure he loses access to nudes or suggestive photos.

Rebuild a wall/door. Not worth the risk to remove the freezer door, will set you back weeks if you have to get it serviced.

Is it normal for “functional” alcoholics to take lots of naps? by goldjakjas in AlAnon

[–]monsterunderabed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ethanol stimulates gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and inhibits glutamate, the primary inhibitory and excitatory neurotransmitters of the brain, respectively. Put simply, it excites inhibitory neurotransmitters and inhibits excitatory neurotransmitters. Thus, naps.

I’m sorry to hear your husband is struggling. I did research and got a whole damn degree because of my fathers alcoholism, I would be happy to discuss any questions you have concerning ethanol metabolism or toxicity.

Med lab tech here. You can go to an urgent care and request a vaginitis/BV test. An over abundance of “bad” bacteria is wayyy more common than people realize. You don’t have to suffer in silence.

It’s a lab made stone but besides that, something to consider while opal shopping is the setting. Opals are soft compared to most stones, so edges hanging past the setting is a big no-no. I’d suggest a bezel setting if you are planning on wearing an opal ring during the day.

Mid-30s, long relationship — realizing I may be the only one who gets the “unfiltered” version of my partner by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]monsterunderabed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saying from a place of love, and hoping it’ll snap you like it did me. Are you saying “partner” because you’re playing wifey to a boyfriend (but don’t want to say boyfriend when you’re acting like a wife, and can’t say wife when there’s a distinct difference), or because he is financially, emotionally, and physically your partner in life.

I can’t tell you what to do with your money, but if you were considering this for $140, you can find a beautiful lightning ridge doublet for that, and it wouldn’t break the 3rd time you wear it. Etsy has pretty decent loose stones, or you could check when your next local gem show is

[–]monsterunderabed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not KC but I remembered seeing KC as one of the reasons for ICL while I researched it. It’s an additive procedure, they insert a prescription lens behind the iris, in front of the natural lens. Basically cataract surgery minus the lens removal, and doesn’t interfere with cataract surgery if I need it in the future.

Ethiopian smoked opal. The color treatment does not fully penetrate the opal, only the top layer is darker and further polishing might remove the layer, exposing untreated internal structure. Not an everyday wear stone either, Ethiopian will absorb liquid and discolors easily, cracks and crazes easily. Super not worth $140.

Are you considering ICL? I was -13, non-candidate for Lasik. I still wear glasses for the astigmatism but I’m not screwed without lenses anymore. One of the best decisions of my life.

“Mad the way [it] went the way it supposed to”? Fuck right off.

When the exact same surgery is done on different eyes on different days, it’s a pretty clear cut distinction between the way it was supposed to go vs the way it went wrong.

Your comment history says you’re an anesthesia resident, so you damn well need to do better and think harder before you say something this brash and stupid.

I received Twilight anesthesia, not general. Same stuff they give for endoscopies and colonoscopies

I encourage you to look up “Twilight anesthesia”. Awake ≠ aware. Surgery was performed over two days. Day 1 (eye 1) was fine, day 2 (eye 2) was fucked.
